Tawny Cottage Reviews

Lovely place to stay. Great if you have dogs. Very clean and tidy. had all facilities needed. Would highly recommend a stay here. Lovely couple that run the site.
Anthony
Very well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage. We would highly recommend.
Tawny Cottage proved to be a fabulous find . . 10 out of 10 in my book. Perfectly located, very Dogs friendly with a brilliant enclosed garden. Peaceful and quiet and yet still 5 minute drive to Sutton on Sea and the famous Beach. Well equipped, comfortable and immaculately presented we will be back.
Michael
The cottage certainly lives up to the description of a 'Luxury' cottage. A very comfortable retreat ,well equipped, clean and warm from the underfloor heating regulated in each room. The garden was ideal for our two lively working cocker spaniels. Very secure, giving peace of mind, even when we were visited by a large rabbit or hare who caused great excitement. The owner Paul was helpful with lots of local information including the passing of over 100 tractors.
Lovely property near the town of Sutton on Sea. Dog friendly
Pamela
Kick back, relax and enjoy leaving your busy lives behind. That was what tawny cottage was for us. Rural and peaceful and one of the main things was comfort and safety for our two dogs. Lovely large garden, they played in secure and safety. As we approached our accommodation and turned in, we both said ooh this looks lovely, well presented and a warm welcome awaited us. Thank you Paul and Lisa. You should be proud.
Gillian
A delightful, peaceful, very well equipped cottage that is pet friendly, secure, and close to dog friendly beaches. We had a lovely stay exploring the coastline.
Rowena
Lovely cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break. Comfortable and clean. Great owners friendly and helpful. Quiet environment. Well kept site. Well placed for easy access to coast and local towns etc.
Joanna
Absolutely fantastic cottage. Super clean had everything we needed and more!! The garden is totally secure which my 2 pups loved and gave us peace of mind and let us fully relax knowing they were safe to run around. Close to local shops and villages and the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here. On a Thursday the jolly Rodger fish and chip van pay the campsite a visit which is delicious

Cottage was beautiful Paul and Lisa very helpful everything was perfect
A beautiful cottage, peaceful, just what I needed. Lovely stone floors which my dogs loved
Philip
Another lovely stay at the cottage. Nice quiet location but close to the beach dog friendly all year. Very well equipped cottage with good internet and streaming TV. Lovely garden to sit in and for our dog to enjoy. We are back in July.
Property was really good and had no issues with property or location. We had seen comments about the road but this caused us no issues whatsoever. Kitchen has all you need, mattresses are quality for good nights sleep and the small garden is an added bonus which captures the sun all day and in to the evening, so perfect for a beer and wine after a day out. You can then sneak back inside to watch TV on the decent TVTVs. WIFI pretty good though had minor buffering once or twice during stay. The camp site is very quiet too as is adult only. The only small minor issue for us was that, though any hot tap you put on had good pressure there appears to be a slight issue with the shower. We had to have cooler showers to get any decent water flow, something you'd normally associate with an electric not a mains connected shower. Would definitely come again as is a great place to use as a base to explore.

Another lovely stay in the cottage. As usual, had to turn the heating down as it is so efficient! Great facilities, the smart TV is very welcome in the evenings and the WiFi is excellent. Well done for providing such a warm and welcoming property. We will be back in May.
We found the property to be clean, wellappointed and very warm & comfortable. The owners left a lovely welcome pack and very good instructions for the various appliances in the property, The things to do book was very welcome, giving us several lovely walks to do in the surrounding area. The downside was the early morning traffic, inevitable really as people have to go to work this was remedied by moving into the rear bedroom. We had a really relaxing time and got the chance to look around the Lincolnshire coast, Louth & Lincoln.
We had a lovely stay. Lisa was exceptionally helpfull when we turned up late and coudnt find our way and rang me to make sure we had got in ok. Loads of places accessible from the cottage, only 10 min from Mablethorpe and 30 min from skegness. Great enclosed garden our 2 furrbabies loved it. Cottage very clean and comfy. A wonderful comfy home from home.
Philip
Lovely cottage. Warm and welcoming. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Well appointed kitchen with lovely underfloor heating individual room thermostats were useful as we dont like a warm bedroom. Paul and Lisa are great hosts, focused on giving their guests a good break. A cautionary note, I have mobility issues and found the shower over the bath quite difficult to access as I had to climb into the bath. Not a lot that can be done about that but just be aware.
Had a most enjoyable week. Our two fourlegged children, Dave & Billy, loved the freedom of the secure garden. We were pleased to meet Lisa & Paul too. The cottage is well appointed with all needs taken care of. The welcome pack was muchly appreciated. Thank you.

Tawny Cottage was lovely, exactly as the photographs and description on the website. It was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The garden was very secure for my dog which was a priority. The only downside was the shower, it had little pressure, apart from that, Tawney Cottage was warm and welcoming, it is set in a lovely rural location but within easy access driving to main attractions of the Lincolnshire coast.
We loved Tawny Cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. Paul and Lisa the owners were friendly and helpful. The area has long sandy beaches and beautiful countryside views. Also, there are real, old fashioned pubs with great grub and welcoming bar staff. 1110!
Alison
We stayed at the cottage with our elderly disabled father. It was ideal for using his walking trolley as it's all on one level with tiled floors which were heated. It was also good for our dog as he could run round the secure garden. The outside area's great for having a BBQ too. The cottage is very well equipped, the only thing we couldn't find was a cheese grater! It was lovely to be able to spend some quality time together in a lovely environment. Just a couple of comments re. disability users... Disabled access there's a step into the cottage. Walk in shower would have been useful.
Excellent place, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean property, well equipped, friendly owners, perfect secure garden for the dogs. Several beaches are within a short drive from the property. Couldnt have asked for more. Will be back. Floyd

Tawney Cottage is a delight. So well equipped, clean and cosy. The cottage is perfectly placed, being a short drive for beach and countryside walks. The enclosed garden is a really good size and very well kept.
My family and I really enjoyed our recent stay. So close to the beach made it very convenient to go back and forth. A lovely very well maintained property with very friendly, helpful owners. The mobile fish & chip van on a Wednesday is well worth a visit, delicious.
Stayed Friday 5th to 8th April. Such a lovely place. Ideal location. Garden perfect for my dogs and family. Could have stayed longer.. Amazing facilities even a washing machine.. definitely will be returning.
Tawny Cottage is just perfect for both facilities and location, even the weather behaved! Thanks to Paul for his recommendation of the Beach Bar for fab food. Lots to see and do, good info pack and lovely welcome basket
Lovely property, very warm and cosy, the bed has the deepest mattress I have ever seen! Great shower and bath. The secure garden is great for 4 legged friends, immaculately kept as are all the surrounding grounds, obviously well loved and cared for. Our only gripe was the stools at the tablewhich we had already seen on the photos fine for breakfast but not very conducive to evening dining, especially for off season when guests maybe stay in more of an evening, especially us! Or perhaps just us! Other than that a great stay with everything you need, thoughtful welcome basket
Lovely cottage enjoyed our stay. Nice and relaxing .
Just home from a week at Tawney Cottage. What a lovely holiday home. Extremely clean, very comfortable, lovely beds. Great secure garden if you have a dog. Lovely welcome pack on arrival too. Few minutes up the road to Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
This was my second visit this year and as before enjoyed my stay in a well appointed holiday cottage nothing is too much trouble for the very welcoming owners. The cottage and surrounding grounds are kept to a very high standard. One small suggestion it would be nice to have a mirror in the twin bedroom. We will definitely be coming back again. Regards Anne,Pippa, Kip and Betty
Antony
The owners Paul and Lisa are so warm and welcoming. They left a goodie box and complimentary toiletries which was a lovely touch. The cottage was immaculate and had everything in the kitchen that you would need to be totally self catering. Everything has been well thought out.The enclosed garden and dog walking area kept our Bella very happy. It was lovely to know that Lisa is a qualified vet should we need one. The fish and chip van which visits the campsite on a Saturday is definitely worth a visit as the Haddock was amazing and a great price! Haddock and large chips made fresh to order only 13 for 2 people. The beautiful sandy beach is just down the road and popular with dog walkers. It was our first time away in many years and we had an amazing time. Thank you Paul and Lisa for being so accommodating. We will be back!
Annette
Tawny Cottage is a well appointed cottage in a beautiful quiet area of Lincolnshire, close to the sea and friendly market towns. Everything provided for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. Clean and welcoming, would have no hesitation returning.
The cottage was really nice well furnished and had everything that we needed. The garden was a bonus well kept ,and although there was a main road was pleasant to sit out in .was easy connections to seaside places . Would definitely recommend the cottage . Sue
My Granddaughter and I spent a most pleasant few days away at Tawny Cottage along with my dog Kip. The Cottage is truely five star accommodation that you feel pampered from the moment you walk in the door, from the welcome goodie basket to the very large white fluffy bath sheets nothing has been skimped on. So much fell in love with the place that I have booked to stay again October 2023.
What an absolutely wonderful cottage. It was very wellequipped and had everything we needed for a great stay. The cottage has 3 smart TV's and is extremely comfortable. The bed was so comfortable we slept like a log. The bath was luxurious and we were super chilled. The fact that dogs are allowed was great and the enclosed garden was perfect for them. It is such a lovely peaceful place. I particularly enjoyed sitting out looking at the view, drinking tea and listening to the birds. The site is so wellmaintained and the owners super friendly. Highly recommend a stay.
I booked Tawny Cottage for a week away with my friend, and two small dogs for a week to rest, recharge and enjoy the time away. The cottage is very clean and well equipped, everything you could possibly need during your stay has been taken into account. It is also set in lovely well maintained grounds. The garden is large and fenced off for privacy and dog safety, also for dog lovers there is even a lovely field available for dog walks with a poo bin. The house is very close to two lovely beaches, one in Sutton on Sea and the nearest one having parking on the beach for 2 per day. The closest and quiet town of Sutton on sea has a good selection of cafes and restaurants which are very dog friendly. There is farm close by which serves farm made dairy ice cream and farm produce breakfasts. Their Lincolnshire sausages are divine. The beauty of the cottage is that everything is within a short driving distance. We would definitely recommend a stay here and would love to stay again ourselves. We met the owners who are a lovely couple who can't do enough for you.
