Windyridge Reviews

Adrian
A wonderful cottage on the edge of the beach. Cosy and warm for a winters stay. We stayed over Christmas and the kitchen was fully equipped for everything we needed to prepare our festive meals to eat in the conservatory overlooking the sea. All facilities and heating worked and was lovely and warm and cosy wholst the north wind was blowing . The cottage was immaculately clean and well looked after. Wouldn't hesitate on staying here again.

We had a lovely stay at Windyridge. The views are amazing, the location very peaceful and the house was very comfortable and well equipped.
Windy Ridge wonderfully welcoming as ever. We've been coming pretty much every year since the 1990s and introduced my grandbaby to Windy Ridge and the North Sea for the first time this visit. Sublime sea views from the conservatory. House clean, comfortable and well equipped. Access stairs provide valuable fitness opportunities. We hope to be able to keep on coming, gutted to see For Sale board go up during our week. Wonderful Windy Ridge, wonderful memories of many happy weeks over the years. Would heartily recommend.

Windyridge is an amazing property in a stunning location. Seconds from the beach, the views from the conservatory and main bedroom were of a vast, usually empty beach. Charmingly decorated, it was comfortable and I spent many hours on the bench outside looking out yo sea. we appreciated the prosecco and milk on arrival. Would love to return.
I was given two phone numbers I rang them both before our holiday. Nobody had the decency to answer or ring me back. The location of the house was beautiful. However it was covered in cobwebs and there was flys absolutely everywhere.Didnt matter how many we killed they kept getting in.As for Sykes Cottages. All I can say is they wont get another penny of me.I rang the number and all I got was some pathetic text messages.Which I got back 3 days into our holiday.I wouldnt recommend you to anybody.Useless service

Amazing views in a quiet location. Although the weather was not kind to us we swam everyday in the sea, just a few steps away from the house. The chairs in the conservatory was where we spent most of our time come rain or shine as the views and proximity to the beach are definitely the 'selling point' of this house. Anderby Creek itself is just a beach, cafe and a few housescaravans so don't expect more but with a beach and dune wildlife like that on your doorstep then little more is needed! A point to note is that the house could have done with blackout blinds, we were woken very early as the curtains were very thin, also i think one of the rooms would have benefitted from twin beds as the 'family room' bedroom area was not really suitable for anyone above toddler age too small for our teenage daughter. We enjoyed our stay and it is a perfect location for a complete 'turn off' from the everyday bustle of life, allowing for complete relaxation.
The cottage was lovely, exactly as described and very well equipped. Very comfortable. It could just do with a really good spring clean, there were a few cobwebs and spiders in many of the corners.
Corinne
Thank you your cottage is wonderful. Welcoming and homely and perfect for the beach. Loved the decor incorporating traces of the house's 1930's style. Thank you for a lovely break in Anderby a hidden gem on the Lincolnshire coast. x
This was our 3rd stay, which shows how much we love it. But as we've been saying each year, the bed in main bedroom has a mattress as wobbly as a jelly. This makes sleeping in the fabulous main bedroom impossible without backache. Recycling regime changed on our day of departure, we hadn't seen notice of this so caused lot of hassle at end of hol. So, backache to start and hassle at end stops my giving the extra
Lovely comfortable, well equipped, clean cottage. The character is charming and the views spectacular. Thank you.
Claire
The outlook from the cottage exceeded our expectations, to look out at the beach & sea while sitting in bed was amazing. The cottage was warm & welcoming & much cosier than we expected which was great as it was 4C outside, the beach was frozen!. The bottle of fizz & milk was most welcome as was having enough essentials for our stay. There were a couple of maintenance issues that will need addressing but I informed owners using the maintenance book they provided. A stay at Windy Ridge provided us with the chance to relax which we really needed and we very much hope to return.
Rachel
Your house is lovely, thanks for letting us stay. The bin instructions need updating. The bin shed near the cafe is covered in ivy so no lock, and the bolt is hidden behind the ivy. There also isn't currently any recycling bin there, despite keeping it separate.
The property has a fabulous position sitting on top of the sand dunes directly onto the beach. We enjoyed a great family holiday and whilst the house is in excellent condition we loved the old 1930's touches like the meat safe still in the old fashioned larder. If you are looking for miles of empty beaches and fresh air, this is an excellent choice.
Graham
Absolutely loved our stay here, idyllic location with a spectacular view, we have been blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some time at Windyridge and will definitely be back.
Malcolm
We enjoyed our stay, but being elderly we did find the steps somewhat challenging carrying the luggage up. But without the steps you wouldnt get the lovely sea views. Something to bear in mind if you are getting on in years.
Elaine
A really lovely stay everything provided for a home from home stay The views stunning from the property as are the nearby footpaths. The steps challenging esp when unloading and loading! Having said that u are made fully aware. Definitely not for those with mobility issues. For us the views well worth the effort
Beautiful clean cottage with stunning views. Only downside for us are the 32 metal steps from the carpark which we found difficult due to our age and mobility. The steps are made clear in the advert. The cottage does make up for the steps and is clean and tidy. The whole family loved it.
This is our third visit to Windy Ridge and I hope it won't be our last. The view is spectacular and without compare. The house itself is cosy, clean and spacious. 1110! Just to let you know on our last night I spotted a medium sized silverfish in the downstairs bedroom. It was only one and we spent a lot of time in the property. It's probably worth taking steps to nip this in the bud because a silverfish infestation is pretty horrible. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to come back one day.
Our only con was the stairs to the property which, although it does mention them in the description, are very very steep.
Back again! ! Another great week spent in Windyridge
On arrival and inspection the bathrooms and kitchen were clean to high standard Bedding and towels provided were also clean and property was well equipped with regards to crockerycutlery etc for self catering holiday. There was even a collection of beach toys available for use in outside shed. The ownercaretaker went above and beyond when we had a minor problem with the shower.thank you. However our holidays were spoiled somewhat by the invasion of what we believe to be pollen beetles on a daily basis. Literally thousands in the conservatory and we couldn't dine at the table in there or leave any food or drink out because of them as they pretty much covered everything. It wasn't nice and pretty inconvenient if truth be told having to constantly clean them away. Note there is a brush in the understairs cupboard but we couldn't find a dustpan. As for the steps at the back there is a lot but they are manageable as long as luggage etc not too heavy. The view and proximity to the beach is what this property is all about and it is without doubt spectacular however for our family the bugs spoiled it.
