Swallow's Nest Reviews

Caroline
Great cottage for two plus dog ! Lovely walks straight from the door, no worries about traffic or noise, apart from bird song, owl hoots and pheasants. Small fully enclosed garden, west facing to see the lovely sunsets.
Elizabeth
A delightful property and very helpful hosts. The remote position was much appreciated and we loved hearing the owls! The lovely walks along the sides of the fields were ideal for the dog! My only slight problem was the height of the settees which is common at most properties as, with a bad back I find I cant get out of low ones! Luckily there was a comfy carver chair so it was better than nothing. That will not prevent us from returning hopefully later this year!
We were delighted with the presentation of Swallows Nest and loved staying there so much we are going back in a few months. Ideal for dog lovers as there really is a safe fenced in garden with this property so often, this can be misleadingly described. Jacquie
Lovely position, comfy and surprisingly spacious cottage
We had a fantastic week here, very quiet and relaxing. Best sleep I've had in months. Loved the log stove, very cosy and the super king bed was amazingly comfortable. The little garden was fully enclosed so we didnt have to worry about our 2 tiny dogs running off. Met the owner neighbour John and we had a good chat about lawnmowers. We enjoyed being here so much we booked to come back in September while we were still there.
Carolyn
The cottage is beautiful and very well presented. We had a wonderful week. Kitchen is compact but has everything you would need. Loved the wet room made me want one even more. Had the log burner on each afternoonnight so sitting in front of the tvreadingplaying cards was so cosy. Lots of long flat walks for the furry boys and husband following the river and seeing the swans. Thank you for a fabulous stay.
Pamela
We loved the cottage. It has been renovated to a high standard and is well equipped with everything needed. The best thing though, was the footpaths from the cottage door. It was brilliant to be able to walk the dogs without going near any roads. We will be looking to book again.
Alison
Everything about the place was perfect, from the fabulous accommodation to the amazing walks, we really enjoyed our week there with our dogs and will definitely be returning.
Joanne

Nice quiet location, decent size enclosed garden that our dog liked, we enjoyed our week here.
A delightful cottage with original features of its previous existence tastefully matched with modern day requirements, set in a rural relaxing location. This is a haven for dog owners and walkers alike with local paths and bridal ways on the door step. The cottage was very well presented and the owners have gone out of their way to ensure that information was available on amenities in the local area.

Our 2nd visit to swallows nest. . beautiful cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage has everything you need, comfortable, cosy and quiet. We had lovely days out to nearby woods and country parks with our dog and also long walks in the countryside thats right on the doorstep. I cannot recommend Swallows Nest enough, absolutely 5 and we will be back next year.. Thankyou Jon and Vicki.
I would highly recommend Swallows nest for anyone looking for a peaceful and totally relaxing holiday
Great Location, peaceful and quiet it was everything I expected and more. A well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting. Plenty of walking for myself and my two Cocker Spaniels. A great base for the three days I was back in Lincolnshire for the first time in many years, it was a joy to return to Swallows Nest after extremely busy days viewing houses, and being able to sit in the absolute quiet surroundings made it easier to review each day, I will definitely be back, such a great stay.
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful part of the world. Very relaxing and peaceful location. Situated ideally to explore the surrounding area.
Everything about the property area and host was perfect, very highly recommended.
Graham
Fabulous property away from the world where we were able to relax and unwind with our dogs for a week. Loved it!
This is the second time we have stayed at Swallow's Nest, and we weren't disappointed. Everything was as brilliant as the first time we stayed. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, from giving advice of where to go locally for something to eat, local walks & beeches for our dog and acknowledging us throughout our stay, yet not being intrusive. The accommodation was clean, airy and well supplied with all the home comforts plus more small touches to dog treats for our labrador & biscuits for us. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend Swallow's Nest to anyone seeking a little piece of rural R&R
Pamela
Swallows Nest was perfect and Vicki and Jon were lovely people who were always there if we needed anything. The fresh eggs from their hens was a bonus! No doubt that we shall return even if the weather is not as splendid as it was this time. Lincolnshire was beautiful and there were some great walks round and about.

We had a wonderful holiday with our dog, who loved the local walks. Swallows Nest is so lovely well designed and maintained and full of history, in a quiet location with plenty of birds to watch whilst relaxing in the garden. Thank you Jon, Vicki and Gem.
The property is fabulous, very tasteful and comfortable. Good safe enclosed garden for our little dog. Comfortable garden furniture to relax in. The owners are lovely people very friendly and helpful. Shall certainly be returning in the near future.
We had a wonderful week in this beautifully renovated cottage which was super comfortable and a pleasure to be in. The situation and walks from the cottage were brilliant quiet, peaceful and with plenty of birds to see and hear. We also enjoyed exploring the local area which was full of interest and history. We rarely go back to the exact same areacottage but do intend to do so this time.
Swallows Nest is a lovely little cottage, beautifully decorated, well equipped and very comfortable. The owners, Jon and Vicki, were very welcoming and helpful. A wonderful place to stay, we would definitely recommend it.
This cottage is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The amount of effort gone into the design is amazing. Very stylish and comfortable and the garden is absolutely perfect, especially for those couples with dogs. Peace and quiet in abundance and lovely setting by waterways, yet only a half hour walk to the village with it's welcoming pub and beautiful cottages, one of which sells seasonal fruit, veg and flowers from a stall. Highly recommend.
Lorraine
A lovely hideaway set a short distance from the local village. Really comfy and an ideal property for two plus your furry friend. Great walks right from the property. Lots of wildlife in the area to observe. You can even watch skydivers from the garden. Lots to see and do locally. Would recommend a trip to Blyton Ice cream parlour where they have 50 flavours for you to try and a lovely cafe if you want something more substantial. A true home from home. Definitely recommend and would love to return soon. Vicki, Jon & Gem are on hand in the rare case you may need assistance.
Comfortable and warm. Ample supply of logs for log burner included in price. Huge super king size bed which was very comfortable. Lots of dog walks from right outside the door. Enclosed garden too which was very useful. Ideal for peace and quiet with pub in village serving nice food and doggy friendly too.
Exactly as we hoped, a lovely place to stay. The dogs loved it too, the garden was perfect for them. The house itself was lovely, light and spacious, and the fire was plenty to keep us warm after a day out walking and exploring in the chilly weather!
Lovely place and extremely cosy with the wood burner. All that you need for a couple on a stay away !
Lovely, tranquil, cosy cottage. Would thoroughly recommend both we and the pooches loved it
Matthew
A lovely rural retreat in Lincolnshire with all modern amenities and well equipped. The surrounding areas are ideal for walking and the property has a very secure enclosure for your pet dog. The hosts John and Vicky are very friendly and approachable. If you want a quiet and relaxing holiday i would recommend this property.

Beautiful cottage so cozy had trouble with the wifi connecting to our phones for some reason been to quite a few of sykes cottages and never had this problem did put us off a bit to be honest away over new year and couldn't use messenger or WhatsApp to video our family as didn't have enough data left for month
Adrian
Thanks John and Vicky for being great hosts, nothing was too much trouble for you for making our stay perfect. We loved our time at swallows nest, the only downside being we couldn't stay longer.
Beautifully renovated farm building. Comfortable furniture and good walks nearby or at least they would have been if the weather had been better. Huge comfortable bed! Good bit of an enclosed area for the dogs outside the door. Really the only downside was that none of our devices would connect to their WIFI and the local pub does not have customer WIFI. We hope to return.
Wonderful little place. Very comfortable. Especially the bed. We slept really well. Handy area to dry the dogs. Well stocked kitchen. Really needed the log burner as the little heaters didn't quite keep the place warm enough. That was fine though as the log burner was lovely. All in all a good restful few days. Than you.
