The Old Mower Shed Reviews

Nice small cottage comfortable and cosy. We had a super week here. The cottage is located very well, the local village is great, very friendly locals good village pub with a decent menu. Plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area. We also had super weather while we were there and sat outside most afternoons in the sun trap. The cottage has everything you need. Saw very little of the owner.

This was our 2nd stay at the Mower Shed, and again we found it a most comfortable place. Well equipped and very quiet location. The village pub is very welcoming, and serves great food. Would stay again if revisiting the area.
Patrick
Really comfortable and well equipped holiday home in a beautiful village set in a beautiful area. The Wheel Inn is just five minutes walk away and has good meals. Belvoir Castle is a few minutes drive away. Stamford, Oakham and Peterborough are within an hour. Burghley House is superb, with very good gardens. Lovely villages on the back roads to Rutland.
Beautiful cottage in very quiet area. Cottage had everything we needed. Bed was so comfortable. Diana was very friendly and nice to know she was close by if needed. Several local attractions including Belvoir Castle, Belton House and Woolsthorpe Manor within an easy drive. Cotgrave parking and ride for Nottingham only half hour drive. Would definitely recommend. Couldn't fault it.

Absolutely superb cottage. Loved being here. The cottage was immaculate and homely. The property owner was exceptionally helpful to me on my arrival. The location is superb for travelling around and a great base. We would love to return again.
Valerie
Beautiful cottage, loved old beams, very comfortable. Some kind of ceiling on bathroom area would have given more privacy. Location wonderful, enjoyed great walks and visits, breakfast outside on terrace.
Annette
Delightful. Quiet comfortable cottage, with everything we needed for our stay, and friendly hosts. The village and surrounding villages were beautiful, and there was plenty to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again.
Josephine
The Mower Cottage was comfortable and provided everything that I required. Diana, the host was exceptionally helpful at all times. The windows look out onto a large court yard. The property is in a quiet location and my privacy was respected at all times.I stayed at the cottage for 4 weeks and would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful location to stay at whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery and walks on their doorstep.
Sandra
The owners were very helpful and friendly, and it was lovely and quiet, and we ... The owners were very helpful and friendly, and it was lovely and quiet, and we would recommend anyone to stay there, very lovely countryside, and a good place for walking, also a very nice pub
I think it could be clear that the cottage completely lacks privacy all windows are overlooked and has two windows that cannot be covered, it is in a pebble car park, from which the tenant is expressly forbidden, but which has the usual slamming and shouting, the best view is a brick walk, the en suite has no ceiling and spews its steam and evaporation straight into the bedroom, the welcome pack mentioned in the arrival book did not materialise. I was quite surprised to find this in a Sykes property.
A great place to stay to explore the area. . Everything we needed. Lovely host's.would definitely stay again
This was my temporary home for several months in 2022. It was wonderful! Everything required for a comfortable stay in a peaceful rural setting. Diana was very welcoming. There are fantastic walks and cycle rides straight from the front door, in beautiful countryside that never fails to lift the spirits.
Lovely annex, but in Branston not knipton! Great location for connecting roads around area and Wolds. Property well equipped and easy to find. I have shared some minor changes, with the owner, that we feel would benefit the property.
Steven
We were the first to holiday at the cottage. The cottage was generally simple to locate. We were greeted by the owners daughter Tish who made us feel welcome. The equipment and facilities offered us what we wanted. The location was ideal for our needs. The cottage's facilities allowed us to have a relaxing stay and recharged our batteries. We met with Diana later in the week and had some pleasant conversations. We exchanged some ideas to enhance the next visitors stay at the well established cottage. We enjoy walks in the countryside exploring and experiencing new scenery and nature. Ideally with a variety of walks in the immediate area with mixed terrain and countryside. We were not disappointed, with some walks starting close by. There are a number of attractive and interesting locations to visit only a short drive from the cottage. The area of Belvoir Castle and its shops are only one.
