Lizzies Cottage Reviews

Lovely cottage in a rural hamlet. ..it was so peaceful and quiet. Cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. Well positioned in the county to get around and see the various towns and villages. Had a great stay ..I have to say one of the highlights was getting up early in the morning and whilst in the kitchen a female deer strolling by ... beautiful
A cute cosy little cottage. It reminded me so much of the film The Holiday. Upon arrival, milk, biscuits and a Plum loaf was provided. A lovely touch from the owners. The plum loaf was delicious
Sharron
Very nice and cosy well presented.
I had a very enjoyable week in Lizzies cottage. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything I needed for the perfect stay. Sharon and Malcom have renovated this cottage to a very high standard. It was very modern but they had left some features from its past in place which gave it a very cosy and homely feel. There were some very nice paths to explore right on the doorstep such as the viking way. Lincoln with its cathedral and castle makes an enjoyable day out. Louth and Belchford are other nice places to visit. I didn't eat out while I was there, as the kitchen was so well equipped, it was nice to stay in by thee fire. I would highly recommend this cottage as your next place to stay if the Lincolnshire wolds are on your list to visit in the near future.
What a delightful cottage in a lovely quiet village but situated ideal for touring the Lincolnshire wolds and even the coast. It had everything you could want for to ensure a great stay.
Michael
Lizzies cottage was cosy, clean and very comfortable, just the ticket for a short,5 night autumn break away. My wife and I found plenty of things to do within a short drive of our base, for example, National Trust properties, local wild life park, local towns, interesting churches and walks. we were well catered for all round.
Perfect cottage, to relax n chill out. Lizzies Cottage have everything we needed to enjoy our stress free stay
Richard
Amazing attention to detail, spotlessly clean, small but cosy and everything you need, lovely garden area to end the day in.
Beverley
Excellent facility and host was helpful and resp
We had such a comfortable experience at Lizzie's Cottage,we only went for a four night break just for a rest really. Lizzie's was spotless and comfortable. The plum loaf and flowers was such a welcoming thought,Thank you for them, they was appreciated. We met Sharon at the door,a lovely warm welcoming lady. We found. Lot's of knowledge about the cottage in the wall cupboard,it's a must read. Information about the area was in abundance in the cottage too. We had a lovely visit and hope to visit again soon.
We had a lovely short stay in Lizzie's Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so welcoming, with every comfort we could need and spotlessly clean. We were able to do walks to other villages from the cottage and could sit in the lovely garden when we returned. We would certainly recommend the cottage to other people who are active and enjoy walking. The owner met us on arrival and made us feel most welcome.
A very comfortable, clean and cosy cottage.
Beautiful listed building in a quiet village with lovely local walks and many interesting places within a short drive. The holiday home is tastefully decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Thank you for a enjoyable stay!
Elizabeth
Beautifully presented cottage. Very cosy, with everything you could need and more. Lovely litte touches, milk and plum bread Beautiful view from the garden.
Excellent all round.
Lizzie's Cottage is a lovely little property, finished to the highest standard with the added bonus of off road parking and a lovely garden with beautiful views of the Wolds. And such a peaceful location. We very much appreciated the amount of literature about the area. It came in very useful. And we enjoyed the plum bread that Sharon provided. Also, it was interesting to read the report about the history and renovation of the cottage. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
Beautiful cottage, sympathetically restored to fit in with surrounding area. Really well stocked in the kitchen regarding utensils and miscellaneous stuff many others forget tin foil, cleaning products, etc. Great location to explore the Wolds and visit the coast. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend to family and friends very comfortable weeks stay.
Suzanne
An immaculately clean property in a lovely setting. A warm welcome from the owner was much appreciated as was the Plum Bread, Milk and cheery fresh flowers. All rooms were on a different floor level as befits a listed property and with care it is easy to negotiate this and is part of its charm. The private garden is lovely for sitting out in with views of the surrounding countryside. My bird App picked up 15 types of bird in just one 30 min sitting. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils and the comfortable lounge area shows lovely views over to the local church. Phil the pheasant made a daily appearance in the lane. The village of Fulletby is very quiet and serene and provided a good base for my visits to Gunby Hall and Gardens, Louth, the Antique shops of Hornchurch, Sutton on Sea for a walk along the promenade and more Antique Shops, Burgh le Marsh for an Antique shop, Gibraltar Point for a brisk circular walk and some photography followed by some delicious food in the Visitor Centre. On my last day a trip to Woodhall Spa which has some lovely walks, shops, eateries and of course the amazing history of the Dambusters. With such a cram packed three night stay it was lovely to go back each evening to a beautifully kept home from home to relax. Many thanks to the owners. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at lizzies cottage. It is slightly inconvenient to have only a downstairs bathroom., but the renovation has been amazing. Everything you need for a comfortable stay has been provided fixtures and fittings are very good quality and nothing was lacking. The bedroom is bigger than it looks on the photos, and the large single beds were very, very comfortable. We both slept very well, only disturbed by the dawn courus.,brilliant.. The weather was sunny but cold, which enabled us to sit outside in the afternoon in the lovely garden, but also make use of the log burner later on, really good. Towns nearby are a short medium drive but worth visiting. We had a friendly welcome from Sharon, with a nice plum loaf. All in all a great stay, and would fully recommend.
A beautifully presented, well maintained, very clean cottage. Very peaceful location.Everything provided for a cosy stay.Warm welcome from Sharon, the owner,on arrival.Would certainly stay again if in the area.
Elizabeth
Lizzie's cottage is perfect for a couple wanting to spend a cosy holiday in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Close to Lincoln, Louth and the coast, it is a great base for exploring Lincolnshire. The cottage itself was very well equipped and the owner was extremely helpful and welcoming. Log burner was lovely in the evening and the local pub the Blue Bell Inn was very good.
Lovely property, good place to lose yourself if you want to get away from everything but not so far away from the essentials ie Pubrestaurantantique places.
What a lovely cottage small but beautifully formed with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The history behind Lizzies Cottage is fascinating and it was lovely to look through the photographs of the beginning of the renovation. If youre looking for peace and quiet then this place is ideal. I did a couple of walks from the cottage, so nice not to have to use the car. Ive never been to the Wolds before, although I live in Lincolnshire, and I now realise what Ive been missing! I would highly recommend a stay at Lizzies Cottage and plan to return next year.
Sharon
Lovely spotlessly clean cottage. Everything you need. The weather was kind to us and we managed to walk around 50 miles in the week all from the doorstep. We even managed to sit in the lovely garden every day. We met Sharon the owner on our first day and she is a very nice lady, either herself or her husband was always there if you needed them, but not intrusive.
A beautifully renovated tiny cottage, spotlessly clean with everything provided. Fulletby itself is a lovely, peaceful village within short distance of shops, although these were not immediately required thank you for the milk and the delicious plum cake which greeted me on arrival. There were really no negatives for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
A really clean and comfortable cottage with all the comforts of home. Thanks to Sharon for allowing us to stay in her delightful cottage. Would certainly recommend to friends and family. Ideally located for getting out and about. Just one point , the bedroom could do with some draw space.
Sandra
Lovely little cottage. It might be tiny but has everything supplied that you need, including the use of the washing machine for which washing tabs were also supplied. Everything was of excellent quality and spotlessly clean. The sheets, for instance, were such a high thread count they were almost silky. The garden and the view were a joy, especially with the sun shining There are a few steps inside due to the cottage being a listed building but that just made it out of the ordinary. The toilet is downstairs though and the bedroom is upstairs.
Delightful bijou cottage in secluded wolds village. First rate accommodation, very private sunny garden. Very relaxing holiday.
Stephen
A fantastic cottage for 2, nestling in the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds. The cottage is comfortable and extremely well equipped, and has a wonderful garden. Perfect for those who want a peaceful and unhurried break in a small quiet village, yet not to far from market towns and coast. One to certainly make a return visit.
Everything about our stay at lizzies cottage was first class. We would certainly like to thank the owner for her warm welcome. We had a lovely break in comfort and the location was ideal. Thank you.
Leslie
A delightful grade 2 cottage beautifully equipped with everything you need. Lovely big garden too. Very comfortable and cant wait to stay again. Thankyou to Sharon the owner for all she did for our stay
We found the cottage perfect for the type of holiday we prefer. Spotlessly clean and Sharon was very helpful. Quite location but all facilities we needed only a short drive away. Would give a strong recommendation and look forward to our next visit.
Andrew
Owners Sharon and Malcolm were extremely helpful and welcoming and did all they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay at Lizzies Cottage. The accommodation for both us and our two bicycles was first rate. A much loved cottage that was well presented and well equipped. Thanks again.
Russell
Very well equipped kitchen but lack of space for groceries, so we moved the microwave to give us space on the worktop. Heating and hot water was automatic and good plus plentiful log supply for wood burner. There are one ore two steps from room to room but not a problem for us. Nice large back garden, not overlooked and a lovely view. Very quiet location, the only noise was the birds singing.
A lovely week spent at Lizzies Cottage. A beautiful property, comfortable and immaculately clean. In a quiet village with walks from the doorstep. Thank you Sharon.
This is a lovely little cottage, tucked away in a quiet area of the Wolds. The owners, Sharon and Malcolm, are extremely pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break, and this cottage is highly recommended.
Patricia
Perfect holiday cottage, as others have said. Immaculately clean wellstocked kitchen with anything and everything one might need big cupboard full of dozens of leaflets and brochures for walks, cycle rides and places to visit plus countless games, books and DVDs great location for visiting the countryside and coast. Thank you to Sharon and Malcolm for putting so much thought and effort into providing a wonderful place to stay.
Alison
Lizzies Cottage is a wonderful mix of traditional and contemporary, it is beautifully decorated, and has everything one could possibly need. Sharon was most welcoming and friendly, the biscuits , plum cake, fresh milk and flowers were much appreciated, thank you. The log burning stove keeps the cottage warm, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen a delight to cook in. A large garden has views over farmland. The cottage is in a quiet village, it is peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there, I hope to return.
Rhondda
Absolutely lovely cottage exactly as described. We had a wonderful week's stay here we are visiting from Australia and the cottage has everything including atmosphere and Christmas decorations and lights that anyone could wish for. The rooms are not big but they were more than comfortable for my husband and I.
Anthony
Highly recommended. Beautiful restoration of an old building in a quiet village surrounded by lovely Lincolnshire Wolds countryside. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable.
