Golson Stable Reviews

Joanne
We really enjoyed our last minute short stay here. The cottage is absolutely pristine with lovely decor. The highlight for us was watching the birds and other wildlife in the garden and beyond. We appreciated the welcome hamper.
Russell
The house was warm and inviting with all possible needs met. What really made it were the little things milk in the fridge on arrival, a welcome hamper, the heating on when I got there, a night light in the corridor. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into it all and take a huge amount of pride in the place. I have stayed in hundreds of places across the UK and this is easily one of, if not THE best.
This was an amazing property, immaculate in every detail. Lovely touches, like decoration, welcome hamper, toiletries provided, wood burning stove, and a complimentary basket of wood, information leaflets. The list goes on. It was well equipped, with everything you could need for a stay. The outside area was lovely and the views were beautiful, especially the evening sky, and the starry night sky. It was peaceful, with lovely walks bike rides to explore. The hosts wer welcoming and lovely. Would thoroughly recommend
I've stayed at Golson on many occasions to visit local relatives. The owner is always so welcoming and on hand to help with anything at any time to make you feel at home. As soon as you step into Golson you feel uplifted with all the luxurious homely touches, comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. There is a beautiful view from every room across the fields with the gorgeous resident Palomino and a terrace to enjoy some stunning sunsets!
Nothing to find fault with, everything that we needed was available. Very restful. My only suggestion would be to the shower which splashes over the bathroom floor. A door might help. Looking forward to revisiting next year. Many thanks Ralph & Jackie

The property is exactly as described and more, you can see how much love and care Sal and Pete have put into it. I had such a lovely stay, was lovely getting to see the horse out the paddock every day too. Sal and Pete are so attentive and received a gorgeous welcome pack which saw me through my weekend of dissertation writing! Definitely planning to return next time I need a weekend of relaxation.
Anthony
The holiday cottage was beautifully presented and pristine. It was so cosy and well thought out with plenty of storage. We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet whilst relaxing on our patio with our morning coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Lovely comfortable cottage with all amenities and equipment on hand. Fab views of the paddock from the patio doors extending from the open plan kitchenlounge. Location ideal for days out within an hours drive. We will certainly return to the cottage whenever we need accommodation in the area.

Lovely welcome pack and everything was clean and well organised. The cottage was very cosy and warm too. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting the area. Sally supplied plenty of imformation on local activities and places to visit too. It was an amazing experience and we will be booking again in 2025. Thank you Sally and Pete and Sykescottages, wishing you a very Happy New Year 2025.
What a lovely property. Everything we wanted in the right location for visiting family. Owner was friendly and on hand but not intrusive at all. Lovely watching Honey, the horse, every morning and evening, not forgetting the friendly chickens. Views over the paddocks were beautiful and included deer at times. So peaceful.
Anthony

Michael
A really beautiful place to stay. Very peaceful. Exceptionally clean. All very well thought out. Lovely views of open countryside. A gorgeous horse, Honey, at the bottom of the garden. A welcome hamper to beat any we've ever had!! Will undoubtedly stay again! Just one small thing, a towel heater would be beneficial. Thank you Sally, you're doing a great job
Graham
The cottage was spotlessly clean with views over fields and horse paddock we saw muntjac deer one evening very peaceful location. A great welcome pack with some essentials as well as some delicious treats was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Cottage well set out with excellent facilities and very attractively decorated.
Angela
It was the perfect location being only a 5 minute drive from our daughter and grandchildren. We were visiting them having driven from Devon. Also had our 93yr old mother with us so huge walk in shower and all being on same level was ideal for her. We would definitely go back.
Stephen
Lovely surroundings and a perfect base for a stay and excursions.
This has to be the cleanest cottage I have ever stayed in. It was amazing
Shelagh
Beautiful property, wonderful setting so quiet and wildlife to watch, just what I needed as I am recovering from broken hip. Facilities were excellent. The only downside was that the towels were very thin. Apart from that excellent stay and thank you so much for the wonderful hamper you left for us.
Elaine
The cottage was immaculate. It had everything we could possibly need. Lovely welcome pack. Beautiful garden and countryside views. Met the owner Sally who was incredibly helpful. We had an amazing break.
Jeannette
This is a beautiful, light and spacious building. It is extremely clean and there is everything that you would want for your stay. The rooms are comfortable and we enjoyed our sleeps there, very quiet. The shower was easy and good to use. The patio door opened onto a seating area with an amazing view over the fields. Plenty of birds to listen to. We had quite a few walks along the lanes, relaxing. Fantastic accommodation.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Golson stable, the bed and the accommodation was very comfortable and I enjoyed the wildlife in the garden. Being situated where it is, made it very easy mileage to all the things I wanted to see in Norfolk as well as Lincolnshire. The cycling was very good and not strenuous, given the flatness of the landscape. Nice to see how efficient the fan pumps are for electricity.
Jennifer
What a lovely cottage. Super location. Very attractively decorated. We used the fireplace which gives off tremendous heat and is super easy to use. Warms the room beautifully and was a treat to have on the cold nights. However the cottage has underfloor heating so is still a comfortable temperature. My partner who is very unsteady on his feet found the shower ideal and was not afraid of slipping. Would recommend this cottage and these delightful hosts. Thank you also for the welcoming hamper of goodies
Dorothy
This compact cottage was a good base for our bird watching activities in Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire although the main roads were busy with potato and cabbage harvesting. The cottage was spotlessly clean with views over fields and we saw deer on our first evening. Essentials such as tea, coffee etc., milk in the fridge and treats appreciated. Comfortable beds, although single beds very close together in second bedroom but no outside noise at night. Easy to use cooker, hob, microwave, compact dishwasher and excellent shower. Small under counter fridge with freezer compartment and small dining table.
Stephen
We had a lovely time staying in this beautiful cottage. everything was spotlessly clean and we felt very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We were especially grateful for the lovely welcome hamper waiting for us on arrival.
Christina
Lovely comfortable accommodation that provided absolutely everything we needed in a quiet, peaceful location shops not far and good base for visiting fens and Norfolk. Patio and garden were very welcome bonus with lots of birds visiting the feeder and a pleasant country view.
Our second visit to Golson Stable a lovely property in a beautiful setting. The views from the lounge window and patio are amazing so many birds to see totally relaxing. Thanks to Sal for making us welcome especially with the goodie box which was left for us.
Kamilla
We spent an amazing week during the October halfterm in Golson Cottage. It was warm, comfortable, really well equipped and we experienced the most amazing sunrises and sunsets from the cottage windows. The surrounding area is quite and peaceful. It was the perfect place to relax and get back to after a busy day of exploring. Well be back!!!!
Really well maintained converted stable. Nice and warm, clean and tidy. Easy access to accommodation. Nice welcome box. Everything I needed was there. Everything worked. Easy journey into Kings Lynn and not far to good large C0Op selling petrol and food. Cannot fault anything, however check out at 9.30 is rather early!
The accommodation is perfect, just what you need to feel rested and enjoy your time away. The hosts are friendly and helpful too. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Rebecca
What a gem ! We LOVED our stay from the moment we arrived. Beautiful cottage. Welcome teacoffeemilkloafbiscuitscrisps on arrival. It was spotless. Buckets of hot water. Stunning view from the living room over the garden and paddock beyond. Excellent location to travel to all destinations. Just the perfect staycation. Sal & Pete thank you
Kerina
Lovely peaceful area but with good links to nearby attractions. We visited Sandringham, had a boat trip on the Broads, visited Boston with a trip up Boston stump, had a day at the beach and visited friends. We ate out twice at Amici in Spalding. We were glad to come back to Goslon Stable to chill out each evening! We really appreciated the parasol that was put up one day when we were out as the weather was incredibly hot and the patio is a sun trap.
The cottage was immaculate, really well equipped and situated in a peaceful location. Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable and the location was great for exploring Norfolk and Lincolnshire. We would definitely go back to Golson Stable, hopefully for longer next time.
Such a beautiful place to stay. Will definitely be booking again.
The holiday home was just wonderful. We had such a brilliant stay here, great location within driving distance of lots of local attractions in Lincolnshire and West North Norfolk. The house itself was just beautiful, so comfortable and cosy, and impeccably clean. Our daughters absolutely loved playing in the gorgeous garden every day. We'll definitely be coming back.
