Caxton House Reviews

Man Yin
The Caxton House is very spacious to accommodate a big group with 24 guests like us. Specifically, kids loved the game room very much and we loved the well equipped kitchen. It's an ideal place for a big group to stay in the wintry days. We had a lovely weekend there. Also, I would like to highlight the owner of the House is very responsible. He texted me before I realised a hot tub issue and followed it up proactively. Though we were unlucky for not able to use it during our stay, I really appreciated his efforts made.
Michelle
A fantastic house, for familyfriends gathering. Ideal location, beach minutes away with SkegVegas a 15 minute stroll away. Loads of room, loads of space, everything you need for a great break away. One piece of constructive feedback, water pressure on first floor is poor, but if you dont bathroom hopping for a shower, its a first world problem only
Fantastic weekend again at what the kids call the big party house. If you just want an house big enough for all the family and all ages this is the one, we made use of the hot tub this year which was amazing it really does tick all the boxes. Lovely pubs in Skegness that normally do live music on a Saturdays, kids and dogs are allowed too, you are straight onto the beach its a gem. We have started a family tradition where 24 of us go this is the 2nd year in the big house many more to come.
Great location. Everything you need for a large group to have a great break. We stayed for New Year and had an amazing time. The owner was very attentive and tried to ensure we had all we needed. Would definitely book this property again. Thank you Adrian owner.

Overall we had a fantastic weekend at Caxton House. Communication with owners was good and they quickly answered any questions we had !Fantastic location for beach and town! Excellent range of kitchen utensils, loads of plates, glasses and cutlery and great to have kitchen and dining room close as we catered for 24 people the weekend we stayed! Separate sitting room was really helpful as not everyone wanted to be in the games room! Pool table arcade machine and karaoke machine a big hit! Plenty of toys for toddlers and handy to have a stair gate! As mentioned in previous reviews some of the mattresses were old and the water pressure in the showers was poor but for a family getaway to have all ensuites was a real bonus!! The price we paid was amazing and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We found this property ideal for a large group for a long weekend away. The rooms covered different arrangements, from single occupancy, families and couples, mostly ensuite. The communal spaces were for a good size for our group and the kitchen had most of what we needed. Our hosts were always on hand if we had queries and resolved a couple very swiftly. The facilities are well thought out and we had a GREAT TIME

Booked Caxton House for my 75th birthday, 55th Wedding Anniversary and early Christmas Day Celebrations . It didnt disappoint. The games room was fab as was the Kareoke Machine, which we all enjoyed. The place was clean when we arrived, The majority of beds were comfy, but the single bedroom mattress definitely needs replacing. Needs some moneyspending on it keep it worthy of a Four Star establishment. The wind blowing thro gaps in the windows need addressing, recommend this to save money on the energy bill, all in all, its a perfect place for large groups of people, would recommend, we were a party of 18 and there was plenty of space for us all.

Caxton house was perfect for our large family group. Everyone got a lovely onsuit bedroom. The kitchen was well kitted out and the dining room had plenty of seating. The pool table was a definite hit! The owners were very help and responded quickly to any questions we had.
Hello, the property was well located with plenty of space for all the family. The games room was excellent for the children. The property was however a little tired and we had a few issues with the heating and the water pressure and temperature on some of the showers, which needs to be looked at. Whilst some of the beds were comfy, there were a few that needed either mattress toppers or their mattress replacingagain they were tired. The house was very clean when we arrived but when we wanted to hoover the dining area we could not find the hoover and discovered it had been locked in a cupboard and although there were plenty of keys in the drawer none of them fitted , there was not even a large brush we could use to clean up after the children. Having said all that we had a lovely time and would happily return if some of the issues had been resolved.
The accommodation is lovely, i would recommended this to anyone who is looking to get away with a big family . . certainly may look to come here again in the future
Jacqueline
The house was exactly as described, with no embellishments hiding any horrors! The beds were all comfortable and the rooms nicely decorated. Games room an absolute boon, a hit with all the family. The kitchen had plenty of equipment and cutlery etc in the many drawers. Nice to have a bathroom with a bath on the ground floor for the younger children, after a day at the beach. Hot tub used by young and old. Spar at the end of the road very handy. All in all a great find and close to the beach which was an added bonus. Pleasantly surprised with the beach, which was clean and litter free and great for a swim! Hope to return one day.
Despite there being several teething problems when we arrived the owners were very helpful and did their best to resolve them. The owners were also very approachable.
Fantastic property, so much space and room to accommodate so many people. Soo much equipment and literally everything you could think of. Nice simple flat stroll into skegness and walking within minutes to a lovely quiet part of the beach which we had all to ourselves. Games room went down a treat as did the hot tub.
Nice place, but a bit of a challenge for less able people
Despite it being difficult to contact the owners prior to our stay, they responded to a couple of problems quickly and effectively while we were there. Cleaning equipment was limited, eg no dust pan, mop but no bucket. Also, 2 dishwashers rather than 2 washing machines would have been more useful for such large numbers.
Pauline
We arrived Friday 4th April for a week. There were 15 of us altogether for a family celebration. The property was perfect for our needs keeping young and old occupied the whole time. We all enjoyed the Pool Table, Games Arcade Table and plenty of toys and areas for the young ones to play and draw etc. Also the Karaoke was a big hit. The Sea Front and town is only a 10 minute walk and Beach just 5 minutes away, so everyone enjoyed the walks, theme park beach etc. The rooms at the property were very well equipped with showers in all our rooms although the power of the water in the showers was a bit slow. They also had Smart TVs in the bedrooms. Dining Room was really well laid out and large enough for us to put up Balloons and Banners without using up any space we needed to eat or play games. The Kitchen was very spacious and had all the equipment needed for cooking including an Air Fryer.
Michaela
This was a great find! As a family of 26, trying to find somewhere to accommodate us all can be really tricky but Caxton house was perfect! The house was clean and had everything you could need. The kitchen is ideal when cooking for larger groups. Literally a 5 minute walk to the beach so perfect location. Ive already recommended to friends!

Me and my family had a fantastic long weekend at Caxton house everything you ... Me and my family had a fantastic long weekend at Caxton house everything you need for your stay well equipped plenty of room great location we will definitely be returning so if you want a family holiday or with friends we cant recommend this place enough A
Just come back from a weekend at Caxton House and had the most amazing stay. Perfect house, location, and hosts. Will definitely be back. High recommended Celebrated my 50th birthday hear with my large family and an incredible time was had by all. Thank you Adrian and Shelli
Three families, two grandparents and two dogs all greatly enjoyed our stay . Games room and hot tub were a great success. Kitchen facilities excellent. The property was warm and welcoming. We would warmly recommend for large family holidays.
Samantha
The house was very well located and just what we needed for a family celebration. The house was well equipped with all the requirements for self catering. Instructions were easy to follow. The house was clean, tidy, bed linen and towels were clean and fresh. My only constructive criticism would be to number the bedrooms on the listing as they are numbered in the house as this would make it easier for allocating rooms for me as the booker I was travelling from the highlands and was the last family member to arrive and the rest of the family didnt want to put their luggage in the rooms incase they took the wrong one
The property was amazing, we had booked the property for my mum's 80th birthday but sadly she had passed away before her birthday. We all decided to go anyway and have a brilliant weekend celebrating her birthday and life. There was 22 adults and 4 kids, the games area was fabulous with the space invaders and pool to keep the kids entertained it was just like been in a very friendly pub without having to pay for your drinks. Plenty of car parking spaces, the kitchen area was very modern with plenty of diningseating area which was big enough for us to all have our meals together. Everything that you need from the kitchen too, plenty of cutlery and crockery, lovely Chinese at the bottom of the road we placed an order and picked up 45 mins later. If you turn right out of the property it takes you straight onto the beach and down onto the peer. I have not been to Skegness for a very long time and it was really nice to see how much money had been invested into the town to make the beaches and surround areas really really nice. More than enough upstairs space and downstairs space for everyone, 1010 would recommend to anyone with a large party, would revisit again.
Russell
This is a great property for a large group in a good location very close to Skegness centre, the beach and nature reserves. Overall we had a lovely stay and particularly enjoyed the games room, hot tub and social eating space. Everyone in the group really enjoyed our gathering. There were a few minor issues to resolve which we notified the owner of. The main issue was low water pressure in the showers, but when this is addressed it would be a 5 star property all round.
This property is amazing! It's huge, all the rooms are beautiful an most beds are very comfy! We loved the lay out too with it all flowing into one another. Parking was great, not ideal for MSRT vans but we got it in there. Property owner is great, sent across all information and replied very quickly when messaged. We would book again.
Kirstie
Bsolutely beautiful house just a short easy walk to the beachtown. Plenty of space for everyone with so many good sized rooms. The games room and hot tub are lovely additions. Quick responses from owners for any questions as well. Just to point out, on the room lists, it says there's two rooms with a double and single bed one of those is a bunk bed double bottom, single top. Would highly recommend and already looking at booking for next year.
Tahmina
This is one of the best holiday homes I have been to. The entire family enjoyed their stay. The property was spacious, clean and fully equipped. The games room kept children, adult and teenagers entertained. The property was in perfect location as it was a walking distance from the beach.
Rachael
This property is brilliant and everything was clean and comfortable.
Excellent house for a large group of people and close to the attractions of central Skegness. Pool table and games room was great. Kitchen and dining area nice and big and plenty of crockery. Some rooms are little dated and towels very thin so would only put as 3 star
We had a fantastic weekend at Caxton house. Had everything you needed. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The hot tub was a nice touch and very clean. The games room was also a big hit with the kids. Would definitely recommend.
