The Stable Reviews

Pauline
We had a lovely relaxing time. This was 2nd stay and it was as good as the first. The owner was very friendly, and accommodating. Our little dog loved it, the garden was fully enclosed We have already booked for October 2026 and March next year

The stable was lovely and comfortable would stay again there was no book to say how nice it was and also no instructions book for thing's to do place's to go what to do if you needed help or where to put washing and rubbish when leaving the property otherwise the perfect property
This was our third stay at the stables we found it everything we needed. Would recommend it to our friends and family
GREAT CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR We stayed at the stable over Christmas and new year and had a wonderful time. The cottage was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. We had everything we needed the kitchen is well equipped everything I needed to make Christmas dinner. Lovely comfy bed. For info there is a fridge with just an ice box although John kindly put us another fridge in the porch given the length of our stay. We had champagne and mince pies on arrival which was greatly appreciated. Dave was very helpful and made sure we were ok he is only a few minutes away if we had needed him. There is a beautiful pub and a shop in the village which is an easy half hour walk away. Overall a lovely stay would highly recommended.

Nice conversion, very comfortable. Nice welcome.

Overall nice little property & great location for us as we wanted to be near RAF Coningsby. Owner friendly & helpful. Lack of broadband could be an issue for some. Just needs little tlc. A couple of bulbs were blown. Size of the toiletbathroom was a bit of an issue as it's very small & the toilet didn't fully flush easily. Great for a short break.
The stable was overall clean, shower room had slight urine smell and would benefit from a mat or mop as floor remains wet and toilet use after results in wet feet. Had to repair shower head, otherwise accommodation was very pleasant and would book again, could benefit with wifi. A very pleasant stay.

This is a lovely cottage let down badly by the bathroom. Toilet did not flush properly. It was a wet room not mentioned in your listing but not really big enough for a wet room. Shower curtain not suitable. Light bulb in lamp in lounge not working. We did have a lovely stay but cannot give 5 stars. Will not return due to the problems with the bathroom. Only suitable for a couple of nights. Would not recommend for more than that. In a lovely location though.
The Stable was very clean, had everything we needed, a nice relaxing break.

We had a very relaxing holiday and will be returning next may. The location was so peaceful, and the owner was very friendly and let me walk our dog in his fields. The property was very clean, and light inside. We were not very far from the shops. And the nextdoor neighbour was very friendly.
A lovely little cottage set in a stunning part of Lincolnshire. Everything we needed with ample parking space and privacy. The bathroom however was a little small with a very quirky shower with very poor flow until I fitted a brand new missing shower head washer. Everything else was superb. Thanks
Angela
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Well maintained and comfortable, with everything needed for our stay. Patio area and enclosed garden were perfect for us and our dog. Very quiet, just the odd car passing at the back of the property. Nice walks through farmers fields, all clearly signposted. There is a little shop and a pub cant comment as didnt use either, about a mile and a half from the cottage. Nearest village, Horncastle has a Tesco and coop, some quaint little shops and cafes. Skegness and Lincoln town are worth a visit if you dont mind travelling a bit further out.
This is a perfect little switch off getaway. It was clean and comfortable with all we needed. Beautifully quiet, and surrounding beautiful views. All we needed was there. 25mins from Skegness Beach and plenty to visit or equally as easy to stay put and turn off for the weekend! It's a little.closer to the main house than the pictures and did feel a little overlooked but we never really saw anyone. It could do with maybe a little welcome pack? Just to say Hi and tell you what's where and where to leave your rubbish at the end as this wasn't clear to us anywhere. Secure garden was the main reason for our hire, there were two holes in the fence that one of our dogs did find, so this needs checking We really apologise as its just occurred I forgot to remove the garden chairs from the fence!
Quiet spot, ideal for recharging the batteries. Good location for exploring Lincolnshire. Enjoyed a visit to Lincoln. Thank you to the owners for the Wine and Ale.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Stable. It is a nice quiet area with just a road and only a house next door. Found the garden was fenced in well for our dog. Great area for seeing planes and star gazing! The toilet and shower is okay for just a week's use for 2 people and the fact that it didn't have Wifi didn't bother us at all. Although I believe the owner is putting it in in the future. We will definitely be back.
Only wish that the garden was fenced in completely other than that everything was amazing thank u
A great property in a very rural location with great views and walks around. Ideal for 2 people. Would recommend if you are looking for a quiet location yet only 5 minutes off a main road. Installing wifi would be good although mobile coverage Vodafone and O2 were good. Property is generally well equipped although we did suggest a few things to the owner. Would certainly consider staying there again if we were looking for accommodation in the area. Wine, beer and fresh milk on arrival was a nice touch.
Thoroughly enjoyable 3 night stay, designed superbly to allow for generous living space and combined kitchendiner. Bedroom is again a great space that allows easy movement. Bed itself has top quality mattress and bedding, both myself and wife slept really well and has added advantage of view through patio doors out across garden and surrounding farmland. Property is on a road mainly tractors and locals taking short cuts. No windows on this side of the stable to really interfere with your stay. Owner lives next door at the farm and is very pleasant and approachable if needed. Overall will return as in a great spot to visit the Lincolnshire coast and also visit my daughter, so in law and family in Norfolk. Thank you
Steven
We enjoyed our stay at the recently renovated Stable. It was comfortable and warm and nice and light throughout. The kitchen appliances were very good and there were 2 good quality TV's too. The seating and bed were nice and comfortable. The bathroom did the job although to use the shower meant removing toilet rolls etc as the whole room gets wet. One of the main reasons for choosing this location was to accomodate our dog with the large garden being a big attraction. However we found that the garden isn't fully secure. The back of the garden is only fenced off from the adjacent field by a plastic mesh fence. This wasn't fitted properly and most of it wasn't at full height and our dog easily got over it and ended up in the field. This could have resulted in him getting onto the main road. After this incident we had to have him on a lead which wasn't what we wanted for him. A more sturdy and higher fence is required to make it secure. Also the gate and metal railings could do with mesh being fitted as any dog smaller than ours could have squeezed through, ours nearly did! If those small things were sorted it is a lovely garden for a dog to be in. The only other small things I would suggest would be wifi and a few more basic kitchen items such as oven trays and gloves. We did enjoy our stay and would consider coming again if we felt the garden was safe for our dog. The bottle of wine and can of beer was a nice welcome upon arrival.
A perfect weekend stay in the middle of nowhere and just what we were looking for, lovely location with easy access to the local village pub & shop and lots of open land for dog walking. The owner John was really friendly and helpful, we enjoyed it so much we will returning very soon after rebooking.
