A wonderful weekend at The Big Splash was had by all. It is a very special place.Comfortable beds, fabulous warm blue pool, lovely big powerful hot tub and a well equipped kitchen. The house was spotlessly clean. Two lovely bathrooms one accessible for wheelchairs which was great There's plenty of shaded outdoor space under the gazebo and veranda which we needed in the heat of the day There was a delicious homemade carrot cake on our arrival A lovely rural setting, beautiful and tranquil. We will be back for sure.

We had a wonderful 3 nights here, the area is set in a beautiful woodland. So relaxing & peaceful. The Children loved the pool & we was so impressed with how clean, spacious & comfortable everywhere was. Robin the host was so welcoming & friendly, not to mention her two gorgeous Labradors who came to greet us who gave the best cuddles! When we got home, we realised we had left food in the fridge!! So sorry Robin , my husband was more worried about his beers left rather than the big tub of Lurpak butter we had left! We will most definitely be booking again for next year as we enjoyed it so much.

We had another lovely stay at Big Splash this was our second visit, having last stayed around four years ago. It's still a fantastic place for a weekend getaway, and we love everything the house provides. The beds are really comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and you genuinely have everything you need. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming, and her dogs are lovely. That said, we were quite disappointed to see how much the property has deteriorated since our last visit. It feels like it's in need of some TLC and general maintenance. During our stay we noticed the upstairs tap had very low water pressure, the sofa smelled quite musty, several kitchen cupboard knobs came off, the dishwasher didn't clean the dishes properly, and parts of the fridge were broken. There was also plaster coming away from the ceiling, along with cobwebs and dead flies in the lounge. Outside, the pool area was looking quite overgrown with weeds, and the tennis courts looked like they hadn't been used or maintained for some time. It's such a shame because this really could be the perfect summer getaway. The location and facilities are brilliant, and with a bit of investment and some relatively straightforward repairs and maintenance, it could easily be back to the standard we remembered from our first visit. We'd love to return again in the future and hope to see it after a few refurbishments.

We had a really great stay at the big splash. Robin was lovely and really helpful. Plenty of information left about the surrounding area, including places to park in Lincoln. It is a great location for exploring the surrounding area. Lincoln is around a 15 or 20 minute drive. The coast is around 1.15hr away. The house was well equipped with everything you need, lots of kitchen utensils, fans for the bedrooms and lots of towels. We all loved the swimming pool, hot tub and tennis court. The children loved the dogs too. Thank you for a brilliant stay. The Cromie's.

We have had a wonderful short break at Big Splash, the hostowner Robin was fantastic and made us very welcome. The accommodation was immaculate and well delivered. Kids loved the pool and hot tub. We will be back.

What an amazing place to stay so glad we found it! The accommodation was great, clean and comfortable and all the rooms beds were super comfy. The kitchen was really well equipped too, which made cooking for a large family so easy. But what truly made the stay special was the owner she was friendly, thoughtful and genuinely went above and beyond for our family. Our kids absolutely loved her and her lovely dogs. The onsite activities were brilliant we enjoyed the swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis court and fire pit. Only a 15 minute drive into Lincoln which is a beautiful city with lots to do and see. Its a perfect spot for families, and we cant wait to return!! Genuinely one of the best family holidays we have ever had!

A wonderful Christmas. It was like home from home!

A perfect remote location, away from the hustle and bustle. Whether its a relaxing stay, or a base for exploring what Lincoln has to offer The Big Splash ticks all the boxes!! From the home made brownies on arrival, which are delicious, to the private hot tub experience we loved our stay at the big splash, and will certainly look to return

Robin the owner and the staff were lovely really enjoyed our stay looking forward to going again

I have been visiting this accommodation for some time, and in the beginning, the owner, Robin, was very responsive and willing to meet us. She was approachable and easy to contact should we need anything. Unfortunately, quite suddenly, she stopped responding to my messages and calls. Out of genuine concern, I even contacted her son, as I was worried something may have happened. This has been disappointing, as Robin had previously shown great understanding of my autistic son and why this accommodation suited him so well. Reading other reviews, it appears Robin is still present for other guests visits, which reassures me she is well, but leaves me uncertain about what has changed regarding our own stays. In terms of the accommodation itself, it is excellent. The building is beautiful, and the garden is a perfect size. The children particularly enjoyed the facilities, including the tennis courts, swimming pool, and hot tub. The underfloor heating was also a welcome feature, especially after swimming on cooler days. Overall, we love this place, and most importantly, my son feels safe and comfortable here, which is invaluable.

This was our second stay at The Big Splash! Another relaxing week. We absolutely love this place with its fabulous pool and hot tub. Our boys 12 and 10 didnt want to leave the site and spent hours in the heated pool in the sun and the rain! The property has everything you need to feel at home so well equipped. The coffee machine in the kitchen was an added bonus this time and very well used! Robin, the owner, cannot do enough to make the stay enjoyable, a very friendly and approachable host. Nothing is too much trouble. Loved those delicious brownies! Robin, thank you so much for making us so welcome. Cant wait to return next year!

The Big Splash is the loveliest place to spend the summer holiday.

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was comfortable, beautifully kept, and had everything we needed. It felt like a real home from home. The pool was just fantastic we spent so much time enjoying it! A perfect place to relax and wed love to come back again.

We had a great week at The Big Splash. The pool was warm and we all enjoyed the hot tub. There were delicious chocolate brownies on our arrival. The place was so clean and comfortable. Lincoln has many historic buildings and cobbled streets and interesting shops. Steep Hill is a good workout! Nearby Dodington Hall is well worth a visit as is Daisy Made Icecream Farm. Thoroughly recommended.

We had lovely holiday, the children and their parents enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, it was a shame that the weather wasn't very good until the day before we were due to leave. I am quite disabled so I was grateful that the facilities catered for my needs, including a walk in shower room and a raised toilet. Thank you Robin for the chocolate brownies, they were delicious. We visited the Cathedral, Whisby Nature Park, the Newark Air Museum and the Bomber Command Museum, unfortunately the exhibition area was closed but we still enjoyed the outside exhibits and their great reasonably priced cafe. We cant wait until our next visit to The big Splash SallyB

We recently spent a fantastic long weekend with friends at this charming cottage. The cottage itself was lovelycosy, wellkept, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The dcor added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect home away from home. Lovely place to stay, cosy and warm in the winter. The highlight was definitely the inviting warmth of the woodburning stove. Our host was wonderfulfriendly and accommodating, always ensuring we had everything we needed. Highly recommended! This is a delightful place to and situated down a quiet country road. Robin the host is great and accommodating. As two families with 4 kids between us it was a comfortable stay good distance to the centre Lincoln where you have the cathedral and castle. It also has a handy EV charger which was super helpful. I would highly recommend it the hot tub is a bonus too!

We all had a great time this weekend, it was much bigger than anticipated. All the girls who went all commented on how nice it was. It was very clean and the brownies were amazing. It had everything we needed especially down to kitchen appliances. Thank you for a wonderful weekend we will definitely be back in the summer so we can use the pool.

August 2024. We have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Big Splash. Wow.. The pool is amazing! Heated to a perfect temperature and immaculately clean. The house is beautiful, spacious and homely, fantastic bedrooms and bathrooms.x I would highly recommend, hoping to return again next year..xxx

Absolutely lovely cottage ,had a brilliant restful holiday

Our two twelve year olds and our 8 year old enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, so much that we had no need to go anywhere else! The weather wasn't kind to us but that didn't stop the children having the best time ever! The house was very comfortable and all needs were catered for. It was so nice to have enough soft seating in the lounge and a table big enough for us all eat together, which is often not available in holiday homes. The outside shower room was very handy, which meant that the children weren't walking through the house dripping. The children loved the triple bunk beds and feeding the chickens. The owner Robin was very approachable and friendly but not at all intrusive.

The house was lovely. I loved the under floor heating, hot tub and log burner. The property was clean and tidy and the kitchen had everything. Quiet rural location but an easy commute to Lincoln. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the big splash. The property was amazing. Facilities were all clean, the house is all in very good condition and the hot tub very spacious.

The property is great, immaculately clean with everything you need. The location is good and close to Lincoln which is a short drive away. It was too cold for us to use the pool but the hot tub was just what we needed. Fresh eggs , mini brownies and a jug of milk was waiting for us. The only downside is the check in time of 4pm as when you are only there for a weekend or short break, it feels like a lost day. I appreciate that the property needs preparing for the next guest but from check out at 10am to 4pm is a long period. To get in from 2pm would give that little bit more time especially in winter when it is dark early. I imagine in summer it is fantastic having the pool.

Excellent property and a lovely host! Everything on site for a truly memorable stay. We look forward to returning again soon.

Fabulous we will definitely book again

Myself and my family spent a week at The Big Splash Cottage. Its an exceptional clean holiday home. we had a happy stay and its truely a lovely place to have a holiday. We where welcomed with homemade brownies, milk and a bottle of Prosecco. All information clearly provided regarding amenities within the cottage and Robin the owner very helpful friendly and accommodating during our stay. Helped us make a cosy fire and found a family members ring that was lost in the pool. Would highly recommend this property, its fantastic. Bedding felt fresh like new, towels and fans provided, beds very comfortable, children loved bunk beds and walk in shower brilliant. parking available outside cottage and felt very safe and secure. Everything we needed was provided. Swimming pool & Hot Tub additional highlights and sitting area was wonderful and grandchildren played in pool for hours. Will be returning next year. The cottage itself charming and very comfortable, perfect. 10 out of 10, amazing. Many thanks. Barbara

We have just come back from a fantastic week at the big splash. The property is lovely and cosy and just the perfect base the kids loved the pool and we loved the hot tub. But the real great part is the hostess Robin! We were greeted with home baked treats she took the time to show my son her hens and nothing was too much we had a fantastic time and we will definitely be booking again!

The Big Splash is a fantastic place to stay with young children as there is so much to keep them entertained in the outside space. My little boy fell in love with the chickens, he spent hours outside with them and enjoyed the responsibility of putting them to bed. Helpful tips from Robin especially free parking! and we'll definitely try forest school next time. A few small improvements would be black out blinds, a quieter boiler and finding another spot for the maintenance trailer as this did effect our first impression. Lincoln is beautiful and there is plenty nearby to amuse the little ones. Ol, Ol is a fantastic restaurant choice

Easily my favourite holiday cottage place to stay so far. This is my 3rd stay at The Big Splash and once again it didn't fail to give a great time. The host Robin and her team headed by Kathy made sure that I was made to feel welcome, and I was. I was greeted with lovely fresh eggs from Robin's hens, some other goodies and beautiful spring flowers. I travel alone so being made to feel welcome and feeling safe are important to me and The Big splash delivered once again. The peacefulness and fresh air are such a tonic as are the bird song in the morning utterly delightful.

The thoughtfulness and hospitality of Robin, Fred and Cathy really made my 2 week stay with them lovely and enjoyable. Nothing was too much effort for them. Upon arrival the property was nice and warm, with chocolate brownies and other goodies to welcome me. The bed is reeeeally comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The outdoor pool and hot tub were kept nice and clean even though I didn't use them. This is a rural property with nothing but the bird song and a few neighbours, which I loved, yet Lincoln is only about 15 minutes away, Doddington Hall with cafe and farm shop are nearby, and the famous old fashioned Upton Chippery is just a short drive away. There's lots of villages nearby to explore and on weekdays you can watch the Red Arrows fly over as they practice. I've had many stays in holiday cottages and in my experience its very apparent when a cottage is just an income for the host, or if like here at The Big Splash where your enjoyment really is a priority for the Host and her team. I'll be back.

A fantastic holiday house! The pool and hot tub were amazing. The house had everything we needed and more. The house itself was very nicely finished and very clean We hope to return as soon as we can. We also had a lovely family next door and our kids played together the whole time while the adults chat. Honestly the best location and stay I've had in the UK also Lincoln is a beautiful place to visit nearby. Really recommend. The pool was much larger than I expected.
