Tawny Owl Cottage, North Somercotes

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage, extremely dog friendly, with lovely garden and hot tub. Would strongly recommend. The Beaumonts, West Yorkshire.

Was not advised until the night before that the hot tub would not be ready to use on arrival. This should be listed prior to booking. From the moment we arrived we had issues with no internet and could only watch BBC1 and BBC2 on terrestrial TV. By the 3rd day we were advised to reset the internet, which improved WiFi but was still limited for streaming Netflix, ITVX etc. The TV was not fixed for the duration of our stay.

A beautiful cottage, we had a wonderful Christmas break.

Gorgeously presented cottage autumn themed. Lovely quiet location. Very comfortable bed. Lovely shower room. Fully equipped kitchen with island. Cosy snug with two settees and wood burner and plenty of wood supplied. The garden was gorgeous with large seating area, outside bar and hot tub for exclusive use. Plenty of space for the dogs to run around in. The highlight was the local seal colony. The seals were arriving to pup and neither of us had seen seals in real life. We were fascinated by them and viewed more than once during our visit. Pub and supermarket just across the road which was handy. Thoroughly recommend this property, you cant go wrong.

An absolute gem . On arrival we had a lovely welcome pack, the cottage was immaculately presented . Plenty of storage both in the kitchen and bedroom, sofas are comfy, loved the shower once I worked out how to use it

The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable and warm. The welcoming pack was appreciated by both humans and dogs! Also the extra covers to use on the furniture our dogs are used to sharing the sofa, so they were able to do so without harming the furniture in the property. The only downside was not being able to let the dogs out directly into the lovely garden, particularly after dark when I had to walk them round into the garden. We loved having a shop and pub within walking distance, as well as the lovely countryside walks.

This cottage was extremely well equipped, very clean and gorgeous! Just a couple of minor issues the garden is not accessible directly from the property, which means you have to take your dog round just a little inconvenient. A suggestion bath robes would be extremely useful for tofrom the hot tub, as theyre very bulky to pack. We had a great week! Local pub is very friendly, you can take your dog in, and it does great food. Theres a good shop just over the road. All fab!

Was a wonderfully relaxing & extremely pleasant break. The garden was beautiful & as good as if not better than the photos suggest. Lola the dog had a fantastic time and made full use of the garden & BBQ! Hot Tub, Tiki Bar, an extremely handy blue tooth speaker, very comfy bed, what's not to love. I over stocked on food & drink which I needn't have, there's a shop with all you need directly opposite. Make sure you read the guide to suss the hot water & shower. A delightful stay, Lola & myself would highly recommend.

Great cottage, cannot recommend enough. Facilities are great, its like home from home. Hosts are very kind and thoughtful, 1010 all round.

This is a beautiful cottage with a fabulous garden. We had a very relaxing time & the hosts were accommodating & responsive. We would definitely return in the future.

This property was absolutely stunning, everything you need and the garden is amazing. Tiki bar, hot tub, egg chair, hammock, 3 sets of patio furniture. Unbelievable luxury. Owners very friendly. If you don't book you'll be missing out.

Spent a fabulous week at Twany cottage was such a lovely clean cottage with a lovely welcome pack and very informative manual and guest feedback book , our dogs particularly loved the garden it was safe and secure for them whilst we chillled in the hot tub they also got to say a quick hello to the owners dog so lots of waggy tails ! The owners are onsite and available if you were to need them found them to be very helpful and friendly , we tried out both the local pubs and everyone was very friendly we got chatting to people on both occasions the local co op was very handy to , I would rate this cottage as one of the best we have stayed in and hope to return soon , thank you again to the owners for all their help and guidance

Thank you to Louise and Paul for a lovely stay at Tawny Owl Cottage, there is everything you need for a perfect relaxing holiday, the hot tub was beautiful and our dog Millie enjoyed the garden. There is a lovely cosy log burner which we lit once on a chilly evening with plenty of logs to put on it, it was just perfect for us and we will be returning. Thank you again

Too many times we have been disappointed by trick photography and information not being exact, but this property, its information and local amenities are exactly as showndescribed. The property is very comfortable and clean with a decent sized TV for a change, has all the things you need and loved the little intricacies dotted about which were not overlooked. We couldnt believe the size of the garden which was for our sole use during the stay Tiki Bar a bonus too. The hot tub is just to die for top of the range not just any old tub thrown in to gain extra rental! Absolutely by far the best place we have ever stayed so far. Just one extremely minute grizzle we missed having something in the shower cubicle to put shampoo etc on rather than having to bend over. Kat & Stu September 2024

Lovely property , very clean and tidy , plenty of room for us and the hound . Very well equipped, fantastic large garden and hot tub . Helpful owner . Decent facilities in the village and beautiful countryside and beaches .

We had a lovely break we where unfortunate with the weather for the first few days but when the sun shine appeared it was fantastic in the garden, lounging by the hot tub and the tiki bar swinging on the hammock was bliss , our dogs loved it we thought the setting was perfect for our dogs as one of them is end of life and just needed peace and quiet and she got that, we couldn't explore anywhere with our situation but everything we needed was close by I would say the only thing I would change is the garden access! maybe a door from the kitchen straight into the garden and maybe a bigger TV haha fantastic hosts and fantastic stay would defo recommend and stay again

The accommodation and facilities surpassed our expectations. Beautifully decorated, a huge garden and hot tub. Very dog friendly, with all equipment provided for them ie. lead, doggie bags, biscuits, etc.. Added to this, a generous welcome pack. The host and hostess very friendly and approachable. Highly recommended.

Truly one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. The hosts have gone that extra mile to make sure their guests have a wonderful stay, they have literally thought of everything. Our dog Bonnie was in seventh heaven in the huge garden and the hot tub was a must and very addictive. Rugs are provided for the evening to sit outside if its cool. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Check out the hosts recommendations for places to eat and visit we went to several and couldnt fault them. All in all a wonderful holiday in a delightful cottage we cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Lovely comfortable cottage, with a fantastic garden.

We have just returned from a week at this fabulous holiday home. The garden is exceptional and completely secure I think the dogs thought their Christmases had come all at once with the amount of space to run around in. It also has multiple seating areas, a BBQ, and the hot tub was an absolute bonus and loved by us humans. Only things to note are you have no back door directly for access into the garden, but this isn't an issue at all as it is a short distance from the door to gate and it is completely secure, and we were unlucky that the mosquitoes were out in force so make use of the repellent in the house. The hosts are on hand if you need them but very respectful and you have complete privacy if you choose. Louise was very kind to agree to allow us into Lincoln one day, leaving the dogs behind for a couple of hours which exceeded our expectations. The living area is cosy and we made good use of the log burner. The Coop across the road was ideal for last minute bits. We had lovely walks through Rimac Nature Reserve and other local areas. We also must recommend Appleby's for their delicious ice cream. It was a lovely peaceful holiday made perfect by this wonderful cottage.

Beautiful cottage with fantastic facilities in a lovely part of Lincolnshire. Although we decided not to take our dogs, it is a dogfriendly and wheelchair accessible property. Theres a huge, fully enclosed and private garden behind the cottage and plenty of walks very close by. I would heartily recommend Tawny Owl Cottage. One suggestion an oven glove would be a useful addition, but apart from that we had everything we needed for our weeks holiday.

Highly recommend for those with dogs due to size of garden and locality to beaches and walks. Cottage was very clean and would definitely book again. Only downside for us was the small double and the fact the the frame creaked every time you move but did not spoil anything for us.

Tawny Owl Cottage is definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in over the last 3 years. The accommodation is perfect for a couple with a small pet and the external space more than enough with a super hot tub. Communication about what was happening with hot tub upkeep via text messages from Louise was welcomed too. I would recommend Tawny Owl Cottage to any friends or family looking for a comfortable break. The local pub and a coop literally across the road and some nice short walks in the local area were icing on the cake for those who just want to park the car and relax. To mention any shortcomings would definitely be nitpicking. Recommended.

We had an amazing stay at Tawny Owl cottage. Louise is a lovely host and has thought of everything needed for a home from home holiday. We really appreciated the welcome pack for both ourselves and our four legged friends, what a lovely touch. The property is genuinely dog friendly, no signs saying don't do this and not allowed that, throws were provided for the sofas and their comfort etc. The cottage is super comfortable and the garden and hot tub fabulous. We enjoyed a fair few hours out there with the pooches, enjoying a tipple at the tiki bar and a soak in the HUGE hot tub. The cottage is in a lovely area with lots to explore nearby. There's a pub within a 2 minute walk and a COOP across the road very convenient if you fancy a cosy day in. All in all, couldn't fault it and can't wait to return which we definitely will. We had a great stay the property is exactly as the listing. Our dogs loved the enormous garden lots of running space for them and we made the most of the hot tub, cant wait to book again. The owners had thought of everything the welcome tray and doggy treats were lovely. The owners were great and checked we were all ok with everything. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the pub just along from the property and the seaside is only a 20 minute car ride. We were more than happy with the property , our stay was very relaxing just what we needed.

A lovely cottage in a great location. Owners were lovely and left a good welcome pack including treats for our pups. Fabulous garden and we made good use of the hot tub. The dogs loved having a large area to run around in. We had a lovely meal in the Axe and Cleaver pub which is less than a 5 minute walk. Coop next door to pub was very well stocked.

The cottage was as described, being very clean and comfortable. The garden was exclusively private with excellent facilities however a parasol would have been beneficial as the weather we had was constant sunshine. The owners were always available if needed and were very friendly, but not intrusive. We would highly recommend.
