Waverley Reviews

Third visit here excellent place for a break with family. Everything we need.
Debbie
Lovely accommodation for five of us for the week. My 91 year old Mum also enjoyed her stay, she found it very warm and comfortable. Very quiet village with a wonderful pub serving delicious food. We went on several walks from the bungalow which were very boggy with all of the previous rain, but very beautiful all the same...all in all a very relaxing time was had by all of us
We had a wonderful stay in Waverley and the surrounding area. The roads are so easy to use and nowhere is far to drive. The weather was very good only 3 bits of rain in 14 days. Katherine and Geoff are the perfect hosts and most friendly and helpful . They are very approachable for whatever your need.
Great property really enjoyed ourselves thank you. The only minor feedback I would offer is that the provision of a shower squeegee for visitor use may help you with the cleaning
Really nice bungalow, a lot of thought has gone into making it a pleasant stay.
The bungalow was so clean and comfortable, the village was quiet and not too far from the coast, perfect relaxing break for me and my wife.
Waverley in Skendleby near Spilsby is a lovely bungalow which has great facilities and is sooo comfortable and has everything you would need. Also is a good base to visit the coast or other places around the area, we are definitely going to go back next year. I also must mention the Blacksmith pub for excellent food and a nice welcome and is just a stone's throw from the Bungalow. Thanks again from John June Manda and JoJo
This was the fifth consecutive year that we have been to Waverley for a week. We have already booked for next year so you can say we are very happy with the accommodation and the property owner who we see each time we are there. We come with one of my sons and his family and always find something to do, places to go to and of course the local beaches The children are already counting down the days to our next visit.
Christine
Our 2nd time at Waverley and will definitely return. The owners are lovely and if they know theres a problem they sort it out straight away. The accommodation is outstanding and situated in a perfect location. As a group of retirees, we had so much to do all within 30 minutes drive. Highly recommend this property.
Lovely cottage, lovely location. One thing spoilt our holiday.Central heating thermostat had label on DO NOT TOUCH.?We were awaken with the heat at 3.30 AM from the heating coming on.In the evening the room was cool. The bedrooms & bathroom were very cold.NO heating on. Under flooring heating was not enough. This needs lo be addressed for future visitors
We enjoyed our second holiday at Waverley with our family. The bungalow is bright, spacious and comfortable. We ate out all week so cannot comment on the cooking facilities. The Blacksmiths Arms a few minutes walk away was great for evening meals. Skendleby is well placed for trips to the coast and local townsvillages. We look forward to returning again. Thank you for a great holiday.
We found the property a good size for our three generation family vacation. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, although the spark ignition on the range didnt work. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were a good size but king sized beds would have been better. For the men in our family who are over 6 the double beds were a bit too short. There are three double sofas and a reclining chair in the loungeconservatory area but two of the sofas have seen better days and are very low when you are sat in them. On the whole the property looked clean but when we pulled the sofa away from the wall the floor behind was very dusty. There were also a number of cobwebs on the conservatory roof and above our bed. Tissue hanging from the conservatory ceiling? The ensuite toilet seat was loose and we noticed this had been mentioned in the guest book on several occasions. For cars with a low front skirt, drivers need to enter and exit the drive with care. Having said all that we had a very relaxing stay at Waverley and enjoyed our time there.
First rate property every thing you need general layout excellent could not ... First rate property every thing you need general layout excellent could not fault anything pub across road for meals only drawback closed few days but Christmas to be expected property quiet tranquil shops etc just up the road in Spilsby l cannot fault this 10 out 10 pete howells
Hugely disappointing. The cottage is located in a quiet village, but access to the steep drive caused issues with our vehicle. We did not feel respected as paying guests in the property as there were a number of issues that we found unacceptable, as follows poor, scruffy 'welcome book' that compromised a few tatty sheets of loose paper with some outdated information ie. WIFI code. the loungeconservatory is lit by 2 bright wall lights with no ambient lighting with which to make the room feel cosy. The furniture was well worn and had seen better days. the kitchen whilst being modern, has a cooker with a broken grill this had been brought to the attention of the owners well over a year ago, and several times since ..in the guest book. There were 3 frying pans all of which were in our opinion unusable, so we had to travel to purchase a new pan for our own use. Roasting trays were also in a poor state. Some of the utensils eg spatulas and wooden spoons were defective and unhygienic. Some of the crockery was chipped around the edges. There was no starter tablets for dishwasher or washing machine. But a half sized dish cloth and sponge, together with 2 waste bags were provided for use for the full week! It was not surprising therefore that the 'Welcome Pack' comprised of a down market hotel room tea tray offering of tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar sachets... with not even a biscuit in sight! The main bathroom had issues, namely a sink which would not drain, a broken shower head slider, an ineffective toilet flusher, rusted radiator and tap. Whilst there were plenty of towels provided they were extremely well used and some were stained. In the bedroom and bathroom area there was a musty smell throughout. It goes without saying that we will not be returning to this property, in fact we did not stay the full week, and went home early.
Christine
Just a thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay and being so accommodating to our needs. Looking forward to returning in March
Richard

Lauren
Wonderful place to stay would love to stay again
We had a fantastic stay at waverley cottage. It was large and spacious enough room for 6 adults comfortably. Beds and furniture comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen. Lovely village with a pub 50 yards away serving delicious food.
Graham
Exactly as advertised, most enjoyable
Michael
The house was lovely and clean and well looked after with comfortable beds and furniture.
This was our fourth visit to the property and have already booked for next year. It is nicely placed and very welcoming, near to many places to visit for all the he family age groups.
Michael
Lovely property. An outside dining table would be a welcome addition.
Sandra
What a lovely bungalow, I dont think the photographs really do it justice. Weve stayed in many bungalows through Sykes and I dont think Ive ever had such a choice of glasses for my evening drink. The kitchen itself was very well equipped and there was a handy little tray containing tea, coffee, sugar and milk which was very welcome after our journey. The settees and beds were very comfortable. The bungalow is in a very quiet location and we had a lovely restful holiday.
Heating stuck on at set temperature to hot during the night, message not to change the settings. Fair enough but way too warm. Lovely house clean and comfortable.
Great property. Had everything we wanted. Wouldnt hestitate to recommend at all. Lovely furnishings, clean and great location to viost Skegness and Mablethorpe from. Few niggles, the ensuite toilet constantly runs. On a wet rainy night it's fine as you can't hear it but considering the property is in the middle of nowhere, with the silent nights the constant dripping water is very distracting. It's been mentioned by previous occupiers also though. The property directions could be better written. Second right turn before telephone box and also would have been useful knowing the key safe is actually at the back of the house. Would have saved me a lot of time in the dark looking around with my phone trying to find a box at front of house. Otherwise the property is great for a staycation. Definitely recommend it.
Lindsay
Great property. Lovely and clean with everything you need. Would definitely stay again.
Cheryl
It was a lovely, clean property. The property has carpets so wheelchair users would struggle, but it was disabled friendly in every other way, it could use some grab rails in the bathroom, especially over the bath. The onsuite toilet sounded like it was constantly flushing, which was odd, but it didnt spoil the holiday. Allinall it was a great place and we are looking to go again later this year or early next year.
Waverley is spacious, clean and well appointed. Perfect for our group of 6 adults. It was a great location for our reunion with family and friends, in a quiet village with country walks from the property. We enjoyed visits to Lincoln, Louth, Skegness, Woodhall Spa, Tattershall Castle NT and Alford. We had excellent meals at The Blacksmiths Arms just two minutes walk away from the bungalow and at the Railway Tavern in Aby. Lunch at the Woolpack pub in Louth was excellent too. We hope to return again in the future.
Caroline
A fantastic accommodation, very comfortable and in a peaceful location.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Waverley. It was spotlessly clean. Could not fault in anyway.
Michele
We had a lovely stay at the Waverley. It had lots of home comforts to make for a relaxing venue. The location is fantastic too, a nice quiet village with a fab pub. Would recommend and will be back.
A wonderful place, it had everything we needed for a comfortable and warm stay. The owners were available if we needed anything and were very helpful and welcoming.
Lovely property, well situated. We wanted for northing. Had a very relaxing week. Can't recommend this enough. Will definitely return.
Paul and myself had a wonderful time here. it was all as said online. it was a beautiful property lovely and clean and beds were so comfy. i loved having my own bathroom. i feel the cold so easy but i was lovely and warm. every thing we needed was there. the best place we have ever rented and we would love to return. please thank the owners for us.
Michelle
Property was beautifully laid out, extremely clean and had everything you could need. We all had a great time enjoying everything Waverley and the surrounding area had to offer including tea at the local pub across the road. The quiet and ambience of the cottage was perfect as was the star gazing. Will definitely be booking to go back next year.
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Everything we needed was there. Thoroughly recommend the Blacksmiths Arms for food.
