The Paddock Reviews

We have used holiday homes at least 3 times a year for well over 30 years and I can honestly say that the Paddock is the absolute best! My hubby and I would buy this bungalow.!! Everything was perfect beds, linen, equipment, facilities, fire and heating. Many thanks for the welcome items, especially the gorgeous cake! Decorated for Christmas! The area is lovely, can recommend the local pub! We will be back!!
Nathan
What an amazing place! Far beat our expectations. Its was so well equipped, had everything you could think of or need. All the extra touches were a great touch, cake on arrival to a warm and cosey home, Lots of info on places to walk and go and all the important info for use with everything. Great selection of dvds to watch on the cold evenings while the open fire roars. The place was lovely and big and so spacious and large outdoor space which would be beautiful in the summer. Absolutely loved our stay and hope to return soon.
Victoria
The Paddock is a really spacious bungalow and so well equipped we lacked nothing! Anything we thought wasn't there, we found in one of the many cupboards oh except for an ice cube tray for the freezer ! We loved the huge kitchendiner and decided to eat in every night. Everything was very comfortable from beds to sofas to dining chairs. We came in November, but despite the space , it was warm and cosy. There were 4 of us, one of us disabled, and the whole place was easily navigable no getting under each other's feet. It was an ideal centre for visiting the wolds, the coast and the wonderful city of Lincoln.
A very comfortable cottage in a good location for visiting Lincoln and the coast. The cottage is well set up with large rooms and everything you need. Directions to the cottage were very helpful as was all the information provided by the owner. The local pub was very good and within very easy walking distance and there is a small local shop next to the pub. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cottage and the welcoming Victoria sponge was excellent.
Property was really clean from arrival and was welcomed with a beautiful sponge ... Property was really clean from arrival and was welcomed with a beautiful sponge cake , the property has everything you need out of a break , decor was done to a high standard and has a beautiful fireplace, also underfloor heating which is wonderful on the cold mornings , would definitely go back there thanks

We had a wonderful stay. The facilities are very spacious and beautifully maintained. The host allowed us to check in early and our pooch Molly enjoyed exploring. A great base for the Wolds, the coast and Lincoln. We will definately stay again.
Elaine
We had a lovely stay at the Paddock. The bungalow was so comfortable, cosy and spacious. The lounge with an amazing open fire has lovely views over the countryside. The crossroads inn had just reopened which was a bonus and had been refurbished to a high standard. We enjoyed going to the coast with our 2 dogs and even used the local bus service on the corner to go into Lincoln. We would highly recommend The Paddock for a holiday. To make it perfect an upgrade on the mattresses in the twin room would be fantastic. Thank you both for the beautiful cake and we look forward to returning again soon. Elaine and Mike

This is a five star property which has everything you could wish for to make for a lovely break. The bungalow is very well appointed and located within easy driving distance of both Lincoln and The Wolds. A most delicious Victoria Sandwich cake had been left out for us on arrival together with milk tea and coffee to start us off. Both bedrooms had ensuite facilities which included walk in showers, perfect for the older generation! The rooms are spacious and warm and very well furnished. We loved our time there and would have no hesitation in booking it again and recommending it to others.
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at The Paddock. The Paddock is beautifully furnished and decorated, a real home from home, with everything you can possibly need and very spacious. The gardens are well kept and well furnished You get a homely and welcoming feel as soon as you step through the door. The home made cake, which was delicious adds a personal touch. We will definitely return. The Paddock is a credit to the owner
Jillian
Wow! What a wonderful Christmas we had at The Paddock. We all really enjoyed ourselves, including Poppy the dog. It was very comfortable and spacious, well equipped with absolutely loads of storage space and also parking space. Great that it was dog friendly too. The homemade Victoria Sponge was delicious and we really appreciated the open fire. This was without doubt the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in and would love to come again some time. Many Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable and for being so helpful when we called Jillian, Ian, David and Poppy
Sharon
Just returned home from a few days break from the Paddock very enjoyable stay. Lovely home made drizzle cake awaiting for us thank you . . Shower in twin room kept going on and off . We had a few days enjoyable stay . Only one other thing is took a long time to find key safe , and no sign posting for the property took us a while to find it.
Hilary
Very much enjoyed our stay at The Paddock. Lovely cake greeted us on arrival and we enjoyed cooking in the very well equipped kitchen I especially liked the range style cooker. Much information on the local area is available, including a wide range of OS maps even one that centres on The Paddock. Huge parking area at the front with under cover parking for two cars and a handy bus stop a short walk away near the village shop. Unfortunately the village pub has closed but The Adam & Eve at nearby Wragby is very popular for food. A trip to Lincoln is a must from the Park & Ride at Waitrose. A most impressive cathedral and an interesting city with a Walk & Ride bus service circulating to save the killer climb up Steep Hill! We can also recommend a trip to Woodhall Spa for a visit to the quirky Kinema in the Woods handy for a wet day. Thank you to Pam, the owner, for friendly emails and for forgiving us a broken glass.
The property was extremely spacious and comfortable. We did have a problem with the small gates at the back of the property as they had some wooden bars missing and even a medium dog could get through easily There was a superb Victoria Sponge waiting for us. We will definately come again. Many thanks for a wonderful break despite the dreadful weather. We were warm and cosy.
Lovely comfortable spacious property
Gillian
We were very comfortable in this spacious and well equipped bungalow. Our only issues were with working some of the appliances. We scratched our heads when using the cooker, which was of a good quality but not the easiest to operate. However, the owner was very helpful when we did need to contact her with queries. We would be happy to book again as it is a lovely property in such a quiet setting with easy access to surrounding places of interest.
Rebecca
We spent a lovely week away at the paddock. Very clean, and it had everything we needed for a week break. The paddock has so much character and the fire place made it feel very cosy on a night. Travel cot and high chair was up ready for our little one when we got there, which was really helpful and saved us taking our own. Also, the cake Pam left us on arrival went down a treat, thank you! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including the dog. He loved the big lawn, and spent most of his time outside. And there is some great routes to walk around the area. Lots to do in the area. I would definitely recommend Rand Park farm to anyone with young children, theres so much to do there, we spent a full day there! I would also recommend Adam and Eve pub in Wragby, 5 min drive away and the food is lovely. Only downfall in East Barkwith is the local pub is only open thursFrisat but I suppose that is expected with it been such a remote area. So we didnt end up to visiting, but Adam and Eve is only a short drive away. Also, side note CHECK WARDROBES BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I was stupid enough to leave my clothes in the wardrobe, but thankfully Pam was very quick to reply and send them back to me Overall a great stay at The Paddock and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a little break away in the countryside Thank you!
Christine
Beautifully spacious cottage in a pleasant village. The ideal location for seeing the Lincolnshire Wolds. Excellent parking area, making turning and unloading easier than most holiday cottages. Two minute walk to the village shop and Post Office but close enough to Louth for good choice of shopping. Horncastle is great for antiques.
A beautiful bungalow in a nice quiet setting absolutely perfect for chilling out . The cake was delicious

A really pleasant week at the Paddock which was very clean and comfortable. We would really like to recommend this holiday cottage. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and the welcome pack including the delicious cake was just what we needed so thank you. We would like also to recommend the fish & chip shop & Adam & Eve pub in Wragby for good food.
Gillian
Just back from paddocks after having a fantastic week away. Bungalow was exceptional, been in many houses and this one was one of the best, had every thing you needed for a luxury break. Beds very comfortable, underfloor heating great. The cake left for us on arrival was delicious and a welcome treat. Would not hesitate to return again and hopefully in the future will. Lovely garden, the dog really enjoyed it.
Anthony
The cottage was very well kept and situated in a pretty part of Lincolnshire. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings were to a good standard. The only fault we were aware of, was a broken tube in the bathroom elaectric fire. The cleanliness in general was of a high standard. Pam, the owner, left us a lovely cream sponge for which our thanks. We were unable to find a visitors book in which to comment.
Pamela
We were amazed at the beautiful Bungalow it was lovely and we had a fabulous stay. Would definitely recommend it and most definitely will go back. The only problem was one of the hoovers did not work but luckily my husband found another one.
Richard
Lovely property, we stayed at the Paddock for a week, rooms are really spacious lots of storage, great garden and patio and a lovely homemade cake on arrival. Really enjoyed our stay as did our dog he didnt want to leave, spent every minute he could chilling in garden, he def seems to be sulking now we are back home. Pam is a really lovely and helpful lady. Lovely bungalow in a lovely peaceful village what more could you ask for. Would def recommend.
We stayed in the Paddock for two whole weeks and we had a lovely time. The Paddock is very comfortable and it has a lot of room. The garden is also big and there is enought parking space for our cars and bicycles. The cottage was very clean and Pam did everything to make our stay enjoyable. I highely recommend this cottage.
Sheila
This is a lovely spacious bungalow, with a homely feel, in a quiet location in a small village. Well appointed and comfortable. A delicious sponge cake was a welcome treat after a long drive from the owner. Good safe walks for dogs along country Lane. Well stocked village shop and good village pub in walking distance.
Beautiful property. Well appointed. Large bedrooms with loads of wardrobe space. Both with a shower. Large garden and patio. Not secure so if you have a dog or children you would have to keep an eye. Large driveway for parking.
You could not better it for what we required at that time of the year.
Ronald
A wonderful cottage. The cottage is very large, plenty of room for everyone. The underfloor heating was a joy, even it being March there was no need to light the open fire. There is no problem with parking, a large gravel area, with 2 car ports, would be ample for a dozen cars. In the summer months the cottage would be even better due to the large patio and grass areas all round the cottage with outdoor lighting, superb. Highly recommended. Lincoln is the most beautiful of cites. .
A great holiday home in a great location. The underfloor heating was a real boon and we were always happy to get back to base after our days spent out and about. The bungalow is spacious and had everything we needed. We found lots of interesting scenery, walks and places to visit within an easy drive and would quite happily return for another stay at The Paddock.
Judith
We enjoyed the space and comfort of this large cottage. The big inglenook fire place and log fire were lovely for our winter stay. The cottage is well equipped and furnished to a high standard. There is ample outdoor space and parking and the garden is private and easily accessible. The general level of care and cleanliness were a great credit to the owner.
BEAUTIFUL ,what a joy of place The Paddock is , its one of the best holiday ... BEAUTIFUL ,what a joy of place The Paddock is , its one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in,everything you need is there,
Yvonne
The Paddock is an extremely spacious bungalow with a fantastic kitchen and super bathrooms. Large outdoor space where you can watch squirrels and an occasional rabbit. The bird feeders attract an assortment of birds to watch too. We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay here.
A lovely bungalow. A very good welcome pack and a pleasant and helpful owner who contacted us in advance to let us know the property would be ready early, advised us on the heating in case it got cold and thanked us for leaving it in a clean and tidy state. Highly recommended.
