The Old Gate House Annexe Reviews

Perfect! The word Annex often conjures up thoughts of small and not private, however, this doesnt apply to the Old Gate House Annexe. It is spacious but with a cosy homely feel and very clean. Lovely big, fluffy, fresh smelling towels, great shower, comfy bed and sofas. The Annexe is very well equipped and had everything I needed and more, plus a well maintained private garden with suntrap seating area, summerhouse and private parking. High standards throughout. Peaceful location along winding country roads yet only 10 mins drive from Alford with shops, takeaways, pubs etc, and 20 mins drive away from SuttononSea, Mablethorpe and Skegness. I would love to stay again.
Beautiful place, if you want peace and quiet this is a gem. Everything you need is 20 mins away. Excellent hosts and accommodation
Have stayed here a few times now , we always relax at The Gate House , is a lovely place to get away from it all ! !
Shelagh
Clean and welcoming property, very quiet with good access to the Wolds and coast. We drove past the sign outside the property as it was quite difficult to see in the dark.
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet everything was spot on plenty of chairs too relax in recommend the annex
Sandra
Had a really lovely and comfortable stay here. Would certainly return again.

The property was really lovely and had a lovely garden which our dogs enjoyed. The property was close to the coast where we mainly walk.. we would recommend this property to our friends. The Bed and sofas were very comfortable which you dont always get in cottages.Had a good time
Alistair
The annexe was a delightful place to stay with all the facilities available to hand. Internally well maintained and with an enclosed garden for our dog Kallie to roam about. The weather was extremely hot so the canopy covering the outside table and chairs came into good use as did the sun loungers which were provided. On an evening it was nice to sit with the doors open and let some cool air in. All communications with George the owner were dealt with very promptly and efficiently. Would certainly recommend and use again.
Terence
We had a super time, beautiful cottage, everything you could need, peace and quiet which is lovely away from the busyness of Life.
Elizabeth
Lovely little residence that has all the home comforts required. Clean, tidy, well furnished and very tranquil. Although attached to another residence it doesn't feel like it is as very well partitioned from each other. Loved the secure garden for the dog. Easy to find, parking great and access to other places was easy. Would use it again if we were going to that part of the country.
The Gate House Annex is a lovely place to stay and unwind. Very tranquil and peaceful. Compact and very clean and an enclosed garden for our furry friends. Our third stay here and many more to come.
Vanessa
Lovely clean accommodation, everything you could possibly need is available. Bed was very comfortable. More spacious than pictures suggest. Garden secure and safe for my dog to enjoy. My stay was spoilt by very wet weather, so not able to sit outside or use the summerhouse as I had hoped. All in all a very lovely place to stay if you want peace & quiet. It was my 1st time away with my dog and I would return again in the future and this holiday property will be my benchmark for other properties in the future.
We enjoyed our stay. The location was idea for us. It was spotless. Everything we needed was provided plus extra. The biscuits and milk were a lovely touch. We would highly recommend.
Pamela
Lovely week spent at the annex, really relaxing and nice to have a safe and secure garden for myself and my pooch. Peaceful for most of the time, lovely walks. If you like a get away from it all, this is the place for you. Thank you for a great break.
Stephen
Our second visit so new what to expect and would book again for a short break. The stones for a pathway are becoming more of a challenge as we get older and there are a couple of uneven areas approaching the doorway. Would recommend for a break in this area
We had no electricity for nearly 24 hours which wasnt too pleasant. not owners fault Owners were very informative . It was pitch black no fridge and a few torches battery operative candles. The summer house wasnt open. It shows an ashtray in listing so does looks like you can smoke in there? But says no smoking. It is impossible to walk to pub from there, roads arent too safe to walk along. But visiting nearby villages they very friendly and dog friendly. Place its self lovely clean and all that is needed for a short break.
Christopher
Lovely accommodation but we should have mentioned the bulb in the shower, it made no difference to our stay which was outstanding. You could suggest Hubbards Hills to any dog owners or walkers, a really outstanding beauty spot just up the road.
Gilbert
Lovely view from cottage. Quiet ,cosy and incredibly clean. Good nights sleep on a comfy bed. Good equipment in the kitchen. Nice touch of tea bags , milk and biscuits ,so you dont have to unpack before you can have a cuppa. Sunny garden and chairs etc provided. Was our second visit.

Our first venture into renting a holiday cottage for many years. We have a small old dog and in pretty much most respects this was perfect for us. The cottage was spotlessly clean. There was everything we needed for our stay. The secure garden was absolutely brilliant for our old dog as she spent ages out there exploring and yet she was always visible to us. We visited in February and the cottage was toasty warm all of the time. As others have said, the bus units and milk left for us by the owner were a lovely and welcome touch
Louise
A lovely warm holiday home with everything you need for a quiet, relaxing break.
We had a very enjoyable stay at The Old Gate House Annex. It was very clean, cosy, tastefully furnished & well equipped for our week away. It was also lovely & warm whilst temperatures hit freezing outside. The garden was secure & perfect for our dog to run around. Hope to return next time we visit Lincolnshire.
We had a wonderful stay at the annexe on arrival it was clean, warm and very well equipped the large garden was secure so our dog was nice and safe. It is in an ideal location for exploring the area, and we would certainly consider a return stay in the future.
This is our second stay in 4 months and needless to say we will be back to stay at this gem of a find. Soo tranquil & peaceful. Perfectly positioned for visiting beaches and amenities. Thank you for sharing this cottage
Jackie
This is the second time we have rented this year and both times enjoyed our stay, The Annex is a lovely property that provided us with the perfect base to explore Lincolnshire. The garden provides a secure area for our dog and the patio area and the huge summer house is great when we get a sunny day. Thank you.
Booked the property for friends to stay in as it's near my home. Second time that they've stayed and they absolutely loved it. They commented that it was beautifully clean, well equipped, comfortable and they loved the enclosed garden for their dogs. Ideally situated for countryside and beach walks.
A lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need, like a home from home. Ideally situated to visit many interesting areas of Lincolnshire. We would love to visit again.
Very clean comfortable and well equipped cottage. Garden ideal for dogs and secure. Would highly recommend.
Lorraine
Wonderful place in the countryside, ideal place to relax and unwind with everything only a short drive away, this very well equipped annex has a very well equipped kitchen, for stress free cooking or many places to eat out not to far away! We really enjoyed our stay and even our princess the dog felt instantly at home in the enclosed garden and comfy home! Definitely worth every penny and will come back soon.xx
Beverley
A beautiful, tranquil place! Everything about this place ticks every box! The garden is beautiful! Our dog Zennor loved it, being totally enclosed gave her the space to just play without being on a lead, and such a great size!! The summer house is such a bonus too! The cottage itself is super clean, comfy and has all the amenities you could ever need! The spare dog lead was something that showed how much thought goes into this place, also the shower chair for anyone with mobility problems. The shower was a great size and the bed was lovely and comfy. Everything has been thought about and to such a high standard! Also the milk and biscuits were perfect when you arrive! This place has already got us ready to book back up again! Great location and a true hidden gem! Thank you, it was one of the best holiday cottages we have been too! Super dog friendly, a cozy clean cottage with everything you could ever want!
A lovely little gem in the middle of nowhere, peace and quiet, lovely! The garden was brilliant especially when you have a pooch who loves playing ball and a guest who loves a beer in the sunshine. The pergola was a great bonus as it was a hot week
Richard
A really lovely cottage with everything you need all catered for. Very quiet and only the sounds of the countryside to disturb, which was birdsong. A little gem

Our first visit to this part of England and we were not disappointed. The annexe had everything we needed. It was very clean and welcoming. The enclosed garden was ideal for our little dog. The cookies and milk on our arrival were most welcome after our journey. A nice touch. A charming place to stay allowing us to explore the Lincolnshire Wolds.
